"Have you had dinner?" Esme asked.

"We're fine. We just really wanted to rest for now." Nate gave that sly smile of his. Very charming Nathaniel.

"Oh. Of course!" She headed to the stairs as we followed. There were two rooms upstairs. She said she uses the one to the left, near the stairs.

"Here you go. Good thing I always keep this room clean. Make yourself comfortable." She smiled.

I walked towards her and hugged her. "Thank you, Esme." I broke the hug after she patted my shoulder. "I almost forgot! Do you need some clothes so we could wash what you're wearing now?"

"That would be great. Thank you." It was Nate.

Esme excused herself for a while to get us some clothes.

"She's two months on her way to motherhood?!" I whispered as I walked closer to Nate. "What was that?"

"Well. Miss virgin Mary," he grinned. "Haven’t I told you this before? And Katherine, will you relax? Let's just enjoy things as it is."

"Seems to me you're the only one enjoying this." I let out a sigh.

"Come here." He pulled me into a hug and after a while we heard someone clear their throat.

"Here you go. This is the best fit I can find. If you kids need anything, let me know. Good night." The woman giggled playfully as she pulled the door close.

I shook my head with a half smile. Esme.

"You take a shower first." Nate said.

I grabbed my bag and the clothes Esme placed on the bed. Good thing I'm a girl scout. Well, not really. But isn’t that the thing most people say when you're always ready or prepared? Whatever.

I locked the door and settled my bag in the dry table beside the sink. I got out my 'emergency kit'. You know. My extra undies and bra (girls gotta have them). And step in to the shower. Tons of things flooded in my mind as the heat of the water raised their way to my body.

Why did I even go here with Nate in the first place? And why does he have this soothing power over me when I feel all stressed up? What was it about him that makes me lose my senses?

“Will you relax? Let's just enjoy things as it is.”

Maybe Nate is right. For once I just want to take my time and not think of anything else.

I’m glad I came here with Nate. I’m glad I’m with him.

The clothes Esme gave were a little big for me but I think it’s just fine. It’s a pair of silk, pink and white polka PJs. When I got out of the bathroom I saw Nate at the little balcony to the right of the room. After settling my things, I went to where he was and noticed he’s already changed his clothes.

“Hey.”

He looked at me over his shoulder and smiled. “I’ve already change. I took a shower on the bathroom outside. Have you washed your clothes?”

“Yeah..” I couldn’t think of anything more to say. We just stood there in silence.

Oddly, it felt comfortable. I didn’t feel the need to fill the silence with words because it felt like we have all the time in the world to talk. But for now we just enjoyed standing next to each other beneath the star filled sky.

Wait a minute. When did I turn so poetic?

“What are you thinking?” He said not glancing me a look.

“Me? Hmm.. I was thinking that PJ really fit you. With the dots and all.” I chuckled.

“Look who’s talking.” He faced me, “as if you’re not wearing polka PJs yourself.”

I lightly slapped his arm. And after a while, we were just looking each other in the eye. No one dared break the contact.

Is it just me? Or is he really leaning forward?

OMJUICE. As soon as his lips met mine, I felt the usual shiver I only feel whenever I’m with Nate. I had to wrap my arms around his neck because I felt my knees giving me off.

Nate wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me closer. He claimed my lips gently, but with excitement. I instantly felt as if I was floating. With him. Bit by bit, my instincts took over and I responded. When I did, his kiss became intense and deeper. His tongue plunged inside my mouth and I trembled in delight.

Next thing I know, I was floating - literally. Nate lifted me off not breaking the kiss. I felt my back lay on the soft mattress..
