CHAPTER 20 ~ The same Love ~

I woke up from a deep sleep. My room. It felt like it was two summers ago, I liked Jeremiah, but I didn't know if he felt the same. Would old me be proud of myself right now? Probably not.

I walked downstairs and saw Jere. I didn't know what to say. I continued walking and made my cereal, not having to talk to him much. Perfect.

I was minding my business on the couch. Jeremiah was next to me but we haven't talked much, just him asking if I was hungry, or bored, normal stuff.

He got a call and answered it in the dining room. But I could still hear. "What! Are you serious! I'll call her. Bye man." He sighed and whispered something under his breath.

"Lacy? Are you serious? I've been away for a day! I don't want to hear it. We're done!" He hung up the phone and slammed it on the counter. Than he ran outside.

Curiousity ran over me. I had to look at his phone. I snuck over and saw this.

Derek:
Did you and Lace break up??

Me:
No? What's going on?

Derek:
She's making out with some random guy rn, call me.

Lacy was cheating on him? Half of me was happy, happy that he got a taste of his own medicine. But the other half was telling me to go comfort Jere, it was still the boy I have known all life. I had to help him.

"Hey, are you ok?" I asked.

"No. If I'm being honest no." He replied

How are you supposed to respond to that? I'll try my best.

"Well I guess we're even now?"

That was not what I was supposed to say. At all, shit.

But, he smiled. He smiled? That could have ended badly.

"I guess so, how's Cam?" He said

"We broke up. We weren't really serious and he thought we were better friends." I said.

"Oh I'm sorry, I'm going take a nap." He said.

He left but he flashed me that bright smile. The smile I was still in love with. Oops!
