" I'm done hiding." I yell to my group.

"Yeah, we know, you've said that for weeks." Ray says and rolls his eyes with boredom, the others nod.

"No, this time is different."

"How is this any different than your other plans." Lillian asks doubtfully.

"Well this, it's based on a question..." Ray cuts me off.

"Oh great another theory plan, awesome." he says sarcastically.

"Oh, come on Ray just... just hear me out." I plead.

"Fine." He huffs.

I hesitate for a moment. "What... what would happen...if a beast came out during the day?" I ask. The whole room falls silent, even Violet who was talking to Joanna, falls deadly silent. Everyone stared at me like I had three heads or something.

"Hope, what are you suggesting?" Josh asks cautiously.

"We just need to draw them out." I say defensively.

"What if nothing happens?" Joanna asks.

"Then we kill it..."

 Sixteen days later

"Okay, we need weapons, protection, and..." I look up to see my team all ready to go. "Oh, looks like..." I trail off. Truth was I was scared, I used to be a pretty rich girl without a care in the world, but now I was... I am their leader. I'm supposed to be brave and selfless, but I'm really not. They might be braver than I am, or will ever be. I grab a sword from the weapons shelf, " Today is the day, the day we fight and put our lives at risk for the sake of our freedom. If we die today, we will die with honor and dignity."

We had experimented seven days before, we went out into the forest and tracked one of the beasts. When we found it's hiding spot we had to draw it out, so we made a ton of noise, then eventually it came out of the darkness and into the light. It had burned in the sunlight, turning to smoldering ash. Now we have a plan, not just survive, but to leave. We were getting out, we were going home.
