Callianna spent the night and the day after that at the hospital wing. James stayed by her side the whole day. Even though her other friends came and left throughout the whole day, James was the only that never left.
"I'm so sorry Annie." he said with bloodshot eyes. That was the first thing that came out of the boys mouth after Cally got better.
"Why are you apologizing James? It's not your fault. In fact, it's no one's fault but those gits." she replied. That was the first time she called him by his name since they were kids.
"Still, i should've stopped when Remus said they were after you. I was so reckless." the boy said with a sad smile.
"Stop, why're you acting like i'm dead? The best thing you can do right now is to stop calling me Annie. Come here." she said opening her arms with a smile. That made the boy smile and hug her.
"So, you actually fancy Lily?" Cally asked with a smirk.
"You're full of shit." James said laughing, breaking the hug. He missed the times they played together when they were little kids. "But you're right."
"Would you two be dating if nothing happened yesterday?" Cally asked hoping she would be right.
"No, she just got out of a relationship. It wouldn't be healthy." the boy said shaking his head.
"Then what about the future? Would you date her if she ever told you she's ready?" Cally asked.
"Honestly after everything? I'm not so sure. It made me question if it's worth putting people around me in danger. Putting you in danger..." James replied, not able to finish his sentence with the feeling of guilt building up once again.
"I'm just pissed that Mulciber didn't get expelled. I don't wanna keep living seeing his face..." Cally couldn't continue. She closed her eyes trying not to remember the events of yesterday.
"His father is filthy rich and powerful. He probably threatened his way out." James replied. "Those purebloods who are obsessed with blood status are just assholes."
"I hate it." Cally replied. She had been bullied plenty of times just because she was born to a muggle family.
"And i hate that you have to suffer for it." the boy said, making Cally hold his hand with a comforting smile.
They looked at the door of the hospital wing because of the noise that came from that way. The door suddenly bursted open and a trio that was arguing as always came inside.
"I told you a billion times, she's fine. I just saw her this morning. Why bother her?" Zoe was talking to Zelda. When Zelda locked eyes with Cally, she ran towards the girl and hugged her.
"I'm going to kill them. I swear i am." she was talking, angry as ever. Callum just stood there awkwardly until the girls finally separated. When they did, the tall boy suddenly hugged her very tightly.
"Aw, Cal. Were you worried about me?" Cally joked at the sudden affection from the boy, just to be met with tearful eyes.
"Shut up Cally, of course i was." he said. When they finally separated, everyone was standing beside Cally, except for James who was sitting.
James got up to let the girls have his seat. That's when everyone noticed the boy was there. Zelda greeted him awkwardly "Oh, hey James..."
"Hey Zelda, Zoe. And you're... Oh I remember! Callum, right?" James asked, gaining a nod from the red haired boy. Zelda whispered to Cally's ear "I'm so pissed at Lily."
