It was the beginning of another year at Hogwarts. Goodbye's to the parents had been said, the first years were sorted and now Callianna and her friends were enjoying the first meal of their fourth year at hogwarts.
The summer had been long and everyone missed each other all holiday. They had a lot to catch up on after especially one specific break up during summer.
Lily Evans and Severus Snape, the unexpected and not supported couple, had broke up over the summer break and no one had any idea because Lily refused to say anything regarding the situation. Now everyone (even third years) was waiting for a word from the girl.
One could say the whole school was disappointed when lily evans said she'd tell everything when she gets to the dorm. When she announced that she wouldn't talk about it at the dinner, there was a huge wave of "boo"s and "ugh"s.
Even though the situation seemed disappointing, it didn't effect Callianna and her roommates the tiniest bit knowing they'll get to listen to the story right after dinner.
Marlene Mckinnon called her friends name before going upstairs "Come on Cally! We've been waiting all summer for this hurry up!".
Callianna asked for a minute before following after her friends. She caught up to the tall boy, startling him slightly before they both laughed.
"So... Where are my 5 galleons mr. Lupin?" she asked with a smirk referring to the bet they've made before the last year ended.
The boy rolled his eyes eyes playfully before handing the girl 5 galleons and smiling "Oh you wouldn't let me live this one down would you? You just got lucky this time that's all. I'm about to find a new couple real soon and be the one having victory you'll see."
The statement only seemed to make the girl laugh harder before saying "Alright it seems someone can't get enough of defeat. I'll be looking forward to my next victory Lupin!" she waved before disappearing to the dorms stairs.
When Cally entered the dorm everyone seemed to have taken their places already. She threw the golden coins in her wooden chest before taking her place completing the circle surrounding her friend Lily.
They stayed up all night listening to the story. Marlene couldn't help but comment "Well i never liked that git anyway." which made Cally add "Yeah he didn't treat you the way you deserved. Can't believe you actually put up with his bullshit.". Everyone seemed to agree before comforting the red haired girl.

The Gryffindor fourth years gathered in the greenhouse for the first herbology lesson of the year, which was also the first lesson of the year overall. The class was shared with ravenclaw and there were 5 tables with the required tools and plants.
Students were mostly divided by friend groups which also seemed to be divided by houses with the exception of one ravenclaw-gryffindor mixed table.
Cally sat with her roommates and the pranksters of their year, no, the whole school —Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew and James Potter. Even though most of the school hated the boys, mostly because of their overflowing trouble-making personalities, the girls got along with them pretty well.
Cally was sort of living in the same town with James and knew him ever since the age of 5. Sirius Black was the boy with the long hair and she actually thought she saw him in town this summer but was probably imagining. Why would a Black even touch the pavement of a muggle town right?
Peter seemed like he was ready to laugh at a joke coming out of the other three boys' at any given moment but Cally always thought of him as a harmless guy.
Then there was Remus Lupin, the boy who was very very very tall. She met him last year after he started asking her some questions about the lessons. In his defense she seemed like the only one approachable that also looked like she was paying attention to the lessons.
That's when she found out that Remus Lupin wasn't that bad at being a student and she could ask him things without getting nervous that she'd be judged. He was, by the end of the year, her part time study buddy and motivating academic rival.
They owled each other a few times throughout the summer about lighthearted topics but that was it. Still he was her favorite one of the four boys.
Professor Sprout announced the plant that was on everyones table was Belladona, a very poisonous flower if not processed carefully. The purple flowered plant was mentioned in their potion making starter kits before and now it was time to learn how to grow one.
"Alright class. Everyone pay attention to the plant on your tables please. This is Belladona, it's poisonous so careful not to eat any mr. Potter. You too mr. Black, i'm aware that they look like the delicious elderberries but they're incredibly deadly i'm afraid." said the woman with a warning look on her face.
That seemed to scare Sirius well enough that the boy didn't even crack a joke the whole lesson.
"Every table choose one to repot the plant please." announced professor Sprout.
"I vote for Clark, since she's like this herbs and plants freak." said James."Well congratulations on being an asshole Potter, but it's a valid argument. I can do it if no one has any objection." responded Cally.
A few agreeing sounds came from the group before Dorcas Meadows spoke. " I wanna do it. I'm sure i can do it as well as Cal. We've been putting her to do it ever since the first year, i think it's time someone else got their hands dirty."
"Oh? If that's what you want Darcy. The stages all yours." Cally said with a playful smirk. She caught the glance of a Remus who was trying to hide his laugh.
By the end of the class everyones belladonas were planted well and named before leaving. "That was the hardest thing i've ever done my entire life." complained Dorcas.
"Well then you shouldn't have made a fuss about the gloves yeah? If you just let me handle it you wouldn't be whining like a toddler." Cally shushed her jokingly.
"Ugh sorry mum, i'll leave it to the whisperer of the plants next time." said Dorcas before laughing with the girl.~•~•~•~
