My heart rate quickened. I am not equipped for this kind of social interaction. "Uh. I'm Ethan you just moved in next door right." I just sat there with my mouth hanging open. "Uh did you hear me?" Ethan snapped his fingers causing me to snap into action. I quickly stood up which was not the smartest idea because my foot slipped and into the creek I go. I let out a small yelp before I felt the icy cold water hit my skin. I sunk all the way to the bottom. I kicked off the bottom. My body shot upward but some thing stopped me. I looked down and my foot was stuck in the muddy bottom of the creek. (This happened to me before, very scary.) I tried yanking my foot out but it was no use. My lungs started to ache. I personally think that drowning or suffocating to death is the worst way to go. It's the way your lungs ache, the pressure on your chest, and the last moments of panic as your trying desperately to get just one more breath. I let out a scream only for it to be muffled by the water around me. I desperately try to pull my leg out. The urgent need to get air back into my lungs is getting stronger and stronger. I felt someone dive into the water next to me. I feel my foot being pulled out of the mud. I quickly swam to the top. As soon as my head was above the water I started to gasp for breaths. I felt tears fall down my face even though I was still wet. I still felt like I couldn't breath. Moments later Ethan's head popped out of the water. "Are you ok?" He asked. I shake my head. I quickly swim to bank of the creek and got out. I sat down next to the water and pulled my knees to my chest and cried. Ethan came and sat next to me. "Hey you're fine. You don't need to cry." He said. I shook my head. "You don't get it. To me it's the worst way to die. I hate the feeling of not being able to breath, even for a second. That's why I'm so claustrophobic. I just hate it." I cried. I saw siting at the edge of a creek soaking wet in a dress next to the Ethan Dolan, and I was crying. What is wrong with me. I wiped my tears away and stood up. I had to get out of this situation. Ethan stood up with me. I quickly began to walk away but Ethan followed me. "I'm Ethan." He said. I nod my head. "Are you going to tell me your name?" He asked. Ok I'm dumb. "Oh uh yeah, I'm Madison." Smooth Madison, smooth. I quickened my pace and unfortunately so did Ethan. The house was in sight. Only a little bit farther till I can escape this social situation. "So you moved in next door?" Ethan asked. I nodded my head. Only 50 feet away. "You don't talk much do you?" I shook my head. 20 feet. 10, 5, 2, and now we are at the back door. "Ok well uh I have to uh go. Thanks for helping me back there." I say as I opened the door. "No problem. So I'll see you later?" Ethan asked. I gave a small smile before I closed the door.
I run up to my room. That was so not how my first interaction with Ethan was supposed to go. I got up to my room and closed the door. I go into the bathroom and quickly take a shower. After my shower I throw on some clothes and I plugged my phone into the speakers and put my music on shuffle. I always say that my music is bipolar because it can go from a pop song to a country song to heavy metal. Currently little piece of heaven by Avenge Sevenfold was playing. I listened to my music for a good two hours. I got off my bed and walked over to my tarantulas cage. I opened the lid and stuck my hand in. Octavia climbed onto my hand. Once I closed the lid I quickly sat down. You do not want to hold tarantulas too high off the ground because if they jump off your hands and into the floor the impact of the ground could cause them to break their legs and a slow painful death or immediate death so it's always a good thing to sit down just in case. I let Octavia crawl around on my arms and hands. My door opened and she jumped into my shoulder. I looked up and there stood Ethan.
Ok why was he hear. He had a terrified lol on his face. "Not to alarm you but there is a huge spider on your shoulder." He said. I laughed a little. "I know and her name is Octavia." I said. I reached my hand up and let her crawl into my hand. "What are you here?" I asked as I walked Octavia on my hands. "Oh um you left your shoes by the creek and I thought that since we are neighbors we should be friends." He said. I looked up at him and smiled. He wants to be my friend? Ok new record for me. "Oh ok. Uh do you want to sit down?" I asked. Ethan nodded and sat down next to me on the floor. I continued to play with Octavia. "I have a twin brother." Ethan said. "I know." I say. Ethan looked at me. "So you know who we are?" He asked. "Yeah due to my total lack of friends I pretty much live on the internet." I said. Ethan chuckled. We sat in silence for a little bit.
"Are you afraid of her biting you?" Ethan asked, referring to Octavia. I shook my head. "No I've had her for a while and she's never showed and signs of aggression." I say. "Would it hurt if she did bite you? Wouldn't you have to go to the hospital?" He asked. "Well a pink toed tarantula's bite is much like a bee sting. It will swell up and you will have to run the bite under warm water and scrub it with soap. The only time you would have to go to the hospital is if you're allergic to their venom." I said. "What would happen if you're allergic?" Ethan asked. I didn't mind him asking all these questions because I loved talking about tarantulas. I've done tones of research. "Well you would most likely go into anaphylactic shock which will cause inflammation of the skin, constriction of the airways, and in severe cases cardiac arrest. A tarantulas venoms is very similar to that of a bee or wasps so it's safe to say that if you're allergic to a bee then you're allergic to tarantula venom." I say. "Are you allergic to bees?" Ethan asks. I shrug my shoulders. "I've never been stung." I say. "You sure do know a lot about this stuff." Ethan states. I nod and stand up. I put Octavia back in her cage and sat down on my bed. Ethan sat down next to me.
Ethan and I ended up taking for a while. Nothing too personal or anything but just casual conversation. Eventually he had to leave. We swapped numbers and we texted for a while. I eventually had to go to bed though. Tomorrow was my first day of school. Yay, note the sarcasm. I hate high school. Since in 14 and a freshman everyone is always older than I am. To make things worse I'm starting in the middle of the year. The only thing that calms my nerves is that Ethan will be there. I'm glad that I'll have at least one friend already. I set my alarm and slowly drift off to sleep.
Sorry guys! This was kind of a filler chapter. But seriously drowning or suffocating is one of my biggest fears. I hate the thought of it. Well any way please vote and comment! Love y'all!
