Chapter fourteen

*chris' pov*

Ben and jack had fallen asleep so matt and nick helped them to the car and took them home. The police showed up and spoke to me and jay about the situation.

"So this young girl was assaulted?" The police officer asked jay

"Um... yes she was" he hesitated to answer but i dont know why wouldnt he want to get revenge on them for doing this to his sister.

"Ok and this young girl's name?" He asked while taking out a note pad.

"H- Harper" jay stuttered

"Full name?" He asks again

"Harper Hayes" i say putting my hand on jays shoulder. To tell him i got this and im here for him. I mean ye he did punch me in the face earlier but this isn't about that it's about my girl- i- i mean harper.

"And who are you two in relation to the victim?" He asked looking up from his notes

"Im her-" i began

"Not you sir" he looks over a jay who's in a frantic state.

"He can answer" jay said as he went to go sit down "whatever happens though we are not pressing charges"

"What?" I turned to look at him but he just shook his head.

"Ok so relation?"

"I'm her best friend and he's her brother"

"Ok now where were you when this happened"

"Watching it" i say with a gulp

"Didn't you think to call the police?"

"Well no- i was in shock. She had barely mentioned her parents before so i thought there was nothing there but as i saw it all unfold infront of my eyes i froze i couldn't move to help her" my eyes began to get watery "i- i need her to be ok. She cant be too injured by this otherwise i could never forgive myself. Please make sure she's ok"

"I will son" the police officer leaves and matt comes back into the waiting room.

"Nick's staying with the boys so we can stay here all night if you want to" he says sitting down next to me.

"Why would i want to?" I say. Wait i said that out loud about my best friend? Thats not right. Whats going on with me?

"Bro you are actually so stupid oh my god" Matt replies shaking his head

The doctor then walks out and straight towards us. We all stand up and jay steps forward.

"She's going to alright. She'll just have to stay in for tonight and see how she goes and she should be ok to make it home tomorrow" jay hugged the doctor so tightly i think i saw him go purple.

We all raced into harper's room and jay ran around the bed and gave her the biggest hug ever.

"Woah. Erm... who are you?" I felt like the world had stopped spinning. I couldnt hear a single noise everything had gone silent. 'Who are you?' Played over in my head a thousand times. Jay's heart must be aching right now.
