Dr Charlie Williams was the best OB/GYN in Hawkins, having delivered the majority of the babies born to the town, over the last 25 years. Two of those babies were now adults and sitting in her office, anxiously awaiting the birth of their first baby. Steve Harrington and Y/N Henderson had been through a lot, more than anyone should ever go through, but they were now on the other side of the hell and life was back to normal - well, as normal is it could be in Hawkins, post Vecna.

'So, Y/N, you're past your due date and baby Harrington doesn't seem to be ready to make their grand entrance into the world yet. How are you feeling?' Dr Williams asked as she removed her gloves, after taking a look to see how things were looking.

'I am so beyond uncomfortable, right now. Why does this baby not want to come out?' Y/N whined, as she got up from the bed, underwear back on and her dress pulled back down.

'These things take time, babies will come out when they are ready, but there are a few things you can try to help them get a move on.'

'What are they? We will try anything, doc.' Steve asked, just as desperate for their baby to arrive as Y/N was.

'Well, you can try eating spicy food, taking castor oil, going for a walk - even nipple stimulation or sex has been known to bring on labor.'

'We'll do it, we'll try them all!' Steve said, literally jumping up from his chair.

'Steve........' Y/N groaned at his excitement to try what the doctor had suggested.

'They are all just suggestions, the baby will come when he or she is ready - which we hope is sooner rather than later.' Dr Williams said as she ushered the couple out of the office.

Dustin and Robin were on their feet, the minute Steve and Y/N got home. They'd been at the Harrington house on a daily basis, both as anxious for the baby to arrive as the couple were. With Dustin being Y/N's brother and soon to be uncle, and Robin - the self titled Godmother and best friend to the couple - there was nowhere else the two would rather be.

'What did the doctor say?'

'Are you close?'

'Is the baby on it's way?'

Steve put up his hands to calm the two of them down and to stop their barrage of questions, while Y/N waddled over to the nearest and the most comfortable chair to her.

'The doctor said the baby doesn't seem to want to make their entrance into the world any time soon, but gave us some suggestions of things we can try to bring on labour.'

'Well, then do them!' Both Dustin and Robin all but yelled, causing Y/N to jump in fright.

' We will be, scaring Y/N wasn't on the list so no yelling out please.'

'Sorry.' They both muttered as they looked at Y/N, who was rubbing her rather large belly.

'Eating spicy food was one of the suggestions, so I'm going to make my famous chilli for dinner tonight, see if that helps.' Steve said rubbing his hands 'Just gotta check the kitchen to make sure I have all I need.' Before heading off to the kitchen to check all his ingredients were there.

After a few minutes of various doors being opened and banging shut, Steve reemerged in the lounge, swinging his car keys.

'We got nothing, I've gotta head out the supermarket, will you be alright?'

'Yeah, we'll be fine.' Dustin replied

'I was asking your sister, dipshit!'

'Yeah, I'll be fine, just don't be too long.'
