"I have been reborn," I uttered with deliberate slowness, as I relished in the surge of euphoria I felt from drinking blood. 'So good,' I thought, dropping the bodies, revealing a long line of bodies trailing behind."

Narrator's perspective

It has been a few years since the Mikaelson family was turned — almost all of them. The parents of the children disappeared the following morning after Kol's outburst. Things were never the same again. While most of the siblings of this family became more reserved and avoided people like a plague, there was a certain individual that relished in his profound power. His name? Kol.

Kol's perspective

"Aaaah!"

'Bloody pest,' I thought, dropping the mortal after I bit him and sucked his blood dry. "You next," I ordered another being.

"Leave me alone you beast!" the man mustered up, while baring his naked neck as he looked away from the scene.

Angered, I dashed to the man's position, held his chin with force and looked directly at his eyes. "Stay still," I commanded.

"Why can I-I not move!?"

"Because I commanded you not to. Now, let me finish you." I grinned.

"Eeek!"

When suddenly, my meal was abruptly cut by an intruder.

"Who is it now!?," I muttered bitterly.

"Kol."

There standing at the entrance was Elijah. Clothes in pristine condition, contrasting from the background. Bloody and stained.

"Hello, brother. What is the reason for your arrival and for"-looking at my next target - "interrupting my meal today?" I questioned, curious yet annoyed.

"Kol Mikaelson-" Elijah began.

"Yes, that is my name," I replied cheekily, knowingly cutting him off.

"Do you have no awareness?" Elijah sighed in disbelief.

"I think I am aware." I replied. "I mean..."- pointing at the dead bodies piling in the corner of the kitchen - "they are dead and this guy?" - wrapping my hand around my next victim's shoulder - "he's alive for now. But, he will join them soon. Unless... you want him?" An idea formed in my head quickly.

"You know what I mean Kol."

"Whatever do you mean brother?" I asked with curiosity, placing the mortal on a seat at a table while I stood aside him.

"This." Elijah swiftly threw a newspaper on the table. On the front page were big, bold letters headlining "AWAKENED KILLER! ARE YOU NEXT?!"

"Oh," I said, unsurprised.

"Is that all you have to say?" Elijah

"Well, I just thought there was more to your sudden entrance. If it was just for this..." I trailed off while flipping through the pages, "Then, consider this... concern over," I spoke nonchalantly.

"Care to join me?" I asked, looking at Elijah while standing still behind the mortal who sat on the seat. "It smells delectable," I praised the being, hands on his shoulder to stop him from fidgeting. It was bloody annoying. 'Why can't he just sit still!' I thought.

"I decline your offer."

"Well if you don't," gazing at Elijah and nearing the mortal's neck, "he will die," I stated, watching as the mortal's eyes widened. "Don't you want to help the poor guy out? He looks scared." I whispered, pretending the being wasn't there.

Elijah stilled. He looked conflicted. "Kol." he said sternly.

"Elijah." I replied, mirroring his tone with a hint of enthusiasm.

"I am trying to protect the rest of the family from your wrongdoings," he confessed.

'Always finding ways to put down the mood,' I thought. Letting a few seconds of silence pass, I start with, "You doubt me. It is your doubt" - locking eyes with him - " that will result in the death of this mortal." I grabbed his neck before he could utter a sound and drank his blood dry before swallowing. 'His blood tasted nice while it lasted,' I thought.

"It's a shame you turned down the offer. More for me I guess," I spoke. Looking at Elijah, his eyes were shifting black to normal - normal to black. "You look like you are having a hard time brother. Need some help?" I offered.

Without a reply, Elijah left the house swiftly.
