~Claire's POV~
When I rode the boat, the driver started to introduce himself. His name is Zack, and he's really a great guy. After talking to him for a while, I sat on a deck, not noticing I had slept for an hour. When I woke up, the sun is still shining, and we're still at the calm blue seas. I looked at the sea, and I saw Jack's image. I remembered the times when we were kids, he always bring me at the beach. I felt guilty, at the same time sad, because I left him alone. But I'll be fulfilling my promise to him, I'll not forget him and the place where I've grown.

As the day turns into night, we're still on the waters, not even showing a hint of land. I've decided to stay at my room and to rest. I'm worried and anxious because I don't know how they'll welcome me. When I felt my eyes getting heavier, I slept.

When I woke up, I saw a small piece of land, I rushed to Zack and ask what place is it. He said it's the Mineral Town. I felt happy, nervous, and sad.

When we arrived there, I saw a small man wearing a red hat. He's the Mayor, as Zack said to me. His name ia Thomas, and he's a very jolly guy. He introduced himself to me, and asked if I'm the new farmer. I nodded and we went to the farm.

When I saw the farm, I was surprised at the same time mad. I looked at The Mayor and saw he was laughing.

"I think you are fooled, ahahaha..."

Dammit! Can't he see I'm mad?

I hit him with my sickle.

"Ow...ow...I'm sorry, please stop hitting me." I stopped."I'll explain. This farm used to be a very successful farm. Crops are grown well and the livestock are healthy. People often come here and see this farm. We are even able to sell many exports. But when the owner died, no one else took care of it. So when people came to see it, they just leave in dismay, because the farm is in a very awful condition; full of debris, weeds. So, people tried to make the ad sound wonderful, so they can attract customers. Everyone who was fooled by that ad left. So until then, no one took care of this farm. So, can you take care of this farm? I know you don't want to, but please try."

I thought for a minute.

"Okay, I'll try." I said, sighing.

"Really, thanks. By the way, there is your house *points*. You can rest for a while cause I know you're tired from your trip. If there's a problem, you can go to me. Bye." he said.

"Okay, thanks." I said.

This is gonna be tough. I thought.

When I entered the house, I only saw a bed, TV, bookshelf, dining, kitchen, and bathroom. This house is really small, but I can live with this. I do not feel like sleeping, so I decided to take a stroll and meet the people in this town.

My first stop was the Poultry Farm, and I met Popuri, a very sweet girl, Rick, a nice guy who manages the farm, and Lillia, their mother. They sell chickens and other chicken needs.

Then I went to the blacksmith. I met Saibara, an old blacksmith. He manages the blacksmithing shop, and he has an apprentice, his own grandson Gray, which I haven't met 'cause Saibara said he's late again.

I already explored the whole town, and I already made friends with Ann, Popuri, Elli, Mary, and Karen. Actually, I also had made friends with Cliff, which is so shy, and Ann asked how did I talk to Cliff. She also said that I'm only the second person Cliff chatted with, aside from Carter, the pastor.

As I walked back to the farm, I accidentally bumped on someone.

"Hey blondie, watch where you're going!" he said, in an annoyed tone.

"I'm sorry sir. I didn't mean to bump on you." I said in an apologetic way.

"Tsk." was all he said.

I wonder what's the problem of this man.

~Gray's POV~
I lazily went up of the bed when I saw Ann screaming at me. When I looked at the clock, I saw it was 8:00 am.

WTF?! I'm gonna be late! Gramps gonna scold me again! I thought.

I grabbed my clothes and rushed to the bathroom. After I bathed and changed, I looked at the clock and saw it was 8:30. I went down and got outside, while hearing Ann scream that I forgot my food.

As I walked down the streets, somebody bumped on me. It was a girl, and she was looking down so she obviously bumped on me.

"Hey blondie, watch where you're going!" I said, annoyed.

"I'm sorry sir. I didn't mean to bump on you." She apologized

"Tsk." I said.

She's very idiotic! I said in my mind.

I just went straight to the blacksmith's. Just as I expected, Gramps scolded me again. I wonder why does he scold and yell at me everytime I come. I'm just tired hearing him, so I answered back.

"You're late again, why don't you become responsible and wake up early everyday! You're such a lazy boy, you don't know how to manage your time. I'm tired scolding you everytime you come here!" Gramps told me.

"If you're tired scolding me everyday, then why just you don't stop and rest your mouth?" I said, in a sarcastic tone.

"Gray! I do not taught you to answer back to the elderly." He said.

"Tch. Then stop scolding me!" I answered back.

"GRAY! GET OUT!" He yelled.

"Why would I?" I answered.

" GET OUT! Or else..." He cutted.

"Or else what?" I said.

"Or else I'll be sending you away from here." He said.

"Then go send me away! I know no one else loves me, even you Grandpa." I said, my tears threatening to fall anytime.

Then I shut the door hard and got out. But when I got out, I saw a familiar face in front of me.

"Mind to tell me your problem?" she said.

Yes, the idiotic girl is waiting outside.

~Claire's POV~
"Mind to tell me your problem?" I said, with concern.

"What'cha doin' here? Don't tell me you heard that all?" he said while I nodded.

"AAAAARGH!!! Go away! I don't need your help." He said, pushing me away.

"Okay, but I'm here if you do need a friend. By the way, I haven't met you here, my name's Claire. How about you?" I said in a friendly way.

"The name's Gray." He said coldly.

"So, you're the grandson of Mr. Saibara? Nice to meet you, Gray." I said while stretching my hand. He just ignored it.

"By the way, where are you going?"I asked.

"Why are you asking?" He said.

"Just wanted to know, don't worry, you don't have to answer
"

"To the Library. I'll just read books to cool my anger."

"Okay. Bye Gray, hope to see you at my farm." I waved goodbye.

"Tss." he replied.

Is he cold-hearted or just an anti-social person? I asked my self.
