C L A I R E
Happy was barking at me so I sat up on my bed, realizing that it's already 6:00 AM. Yeah, it's anothere day of work. The sun was already on the rise, and I really need to start farm work soon. Aside from watering and harvesting some crops, I need to clear out the debris and weeds growing up once again. Then there's those chumps and trunks of trees left. Too many things to do today, so I can't really slack off. I changed into a new shirt and overalls, and left my small home.
Closing the door, I sighed. I felt that this day will really be a long one. Walking towards the field, I saw a letter in the corner of my eye, peeking from the mailbox. It caught my attention, so I went there and took it out. Seeing that it was from Mr. Saibara, Gray's grandfather, I quickly opened it and read the message.
From: Saibara the Blacksmith
Have tools that aren't working well? Just visit the Blacksmith and get it all done.Hey. My grandson still wants you to be his friend; he's just too prideful to be able.
I closed the letter as the last note was left in my mind. I'm not sure if I should believe it, but I want to. Gray's a stubborn, and yeah, a prideful guy, and you wouldn't get him to admit that he really wants things or that he likes those people he meets. Maybe he still wants this friendship like me. Maybe, what's keeping him from finally admitting everything is his anger for me.
I walked back to the fields with a smile on my face. Yeah, maybe right now, we're at an awkward place, but I'm sure we'll be able to go out of this situation. I'm sure that we'll be able to go back to the way we used to be.
"I just need to be believe." I murmured to myself.
Motivated by the message I just saw, I started collecting the honey and the crops fully grown. I hummed a tune as I watered the crops, both regrowable and not. Happiness was overflowing inside of me, realizing the possibility that our friendship might just be fixed. I've always been hoping about that ever since I left Mineral Town, and now that I was reassured that there's still a chance, I just feel so... glad.
After finishing everything related to farm and crops, I started clearing the weeds and debris left in the field. Well, I started clearing them when I came, but of course they would keep growing and growing. When they were all cleared, I started to work on those huge chumps of trees. Breaking them was actually stressful, and I find myself sweating hard just because of this fudging thing. And as I tried to axe another trunk, my tool broke.
Oh holy shit.
Now's just the wrong time. Just no, heck no. The blade got separated from the handle and yeah, the chump also separated. In my frustration, I kicked the cut trunk repeatedly, until I remembered the letter.
Oh yeah, Saibara the Blacksmith.
I quickly rushed to the place and let out a deep breath as soon as I faced the shop's door. My hands clutched the knob and slowly opened the door.
"Good morning," I greeted, as two pairs of eyes shot towards my direction. "I just want to get this fixed, so I came here."
Mr. Saibara was the one who responded, as the other one continued his work. "Sure. What is it that you needed?"
"My ax broke, the blade separated with the handle, so yeah, this needs fixation."
