C L A I R E

Life has been going on pretty well in the past few months for me. The farm was doing well and the sight of the crops growing every season just puts a smile on my face. For me, they are the fruits of my hardwork to revive the farm. As the seasons pass by, I was able to make the flow of things smooth and I was able to earn enough for myself. Life here as a farmer in Mineral Town certainly is harder than my life as an office worker in the city, but I guess it's worth it. It has let me experience various things, and has let me meet many great people, and one of them is Gray Williams.

It was winter, so no crops were growing. The weather was cold, but there was no snow falling from the skies. I went out to check how my cows and chickens are doing, and made sure that they are kept warm. After gathering some eggs and milk from them, and honey from the honey comb, I decided to check the mailbox to see if there was something inside. As I took out the letter, I started to read what was written on it.

Hey,

It's almost the Starry Night festival
I was just wondering if me and my grandpa can stay over there during the festival. I was thinking of spending it with you, and I hope I could. So if you want to, please tell me.

-Gray

I smiled. The Starry Night should be held later, and maybe, it would be fun if I could spend it with them, with him. With my mind conjuring up different thoughts about later, I organized the house and cleaned it all up.

Gray and Saibara came over as what I expected, and the old man had prepared a small feast for us to enjoy. We were talking about different things, and I can see the blond looking really happy as he conversed with his grandpa about something I don't quite understand as it was probably about being a blacksmith. The scenario made me smile a little bit wider, as I can just see how Gray has been getting better with Saibara nowadays.

The old man left earlier as he had something to finish in his shop, like what he told us. After bidding us goodbye, me and Gray decided to go to the mountain top to see the scenery of the night skies, and as we stood beside each other, he suddenly held my hand. I glanced at him in confusion, as the taller kept on watching the stars twinkle.

"They look beautiful, don't they," he sighs in contentment. "The stars. They keep on twinkling and lighting up the dark skies. They are scattered in the sea of the darkness, making the scenery even more beautiful."

"That's so true," I was smiling at the statement. "Stars make the night even more wonderful."

"I could compare myself to the night sky," Gray says, as I stared at him, listening intently to what he was saying. "Life was bleak for me before. I always got into arguments with my grandfather, always yelled at people who just wanted to help me, always pushed them away, always isolated myself. But then you came."

"You're the star that lighted up everything."

I tried to contain my laugh at that, but to no avail. "That- that was so freaking cheesy. Did you rehearse that?"

He crimsoned furiously at my remark. "S-stop ruining the moment!"

"I'm-I'm so sorry. It's just really funny to see you like this," I said in between chuckles. He growled at me. "But honestly, thank you. I'm-I'm not that great of a person, but you make me feel like I am."

"You are," he reassures. "You really are."

A comfortable silence remained in between us, as we watched the stars and the moon light up the skies. A contented sigh escaped my lips, as a smile slowly crawled its way on my face.

"Claire,"

I looked at Gray. "Yeah?"

"Will you marry me?"

Two years had passed by and everything was going well for me- and well, my family. I've been happily married to Gray, and we have our son, which we decided to name Third. Everything flowed smoothly, my brother was married as well, and we see each other during festivals at times, when he decides to come here and see the town. He actually likes it here, and I think he'll be a greater farmer than me if he just decided to become one. I mean, he can take care of my crops and livestocks very well. My cows and chickens seem to like him more than me, though I know they love me as well. We get to call each other, too, so I'm pretty sure I'm still quite updated with what's happening in his life right now.

As for my friends here, Rick and Karen already got married, and they're expecting their child already. It was nice to see the both of them trying to build their own family, although Rick gets stressed often because Karen sometimes gets mood swings and won't talk to him at times. Popuri and Kai are going stable already. Her brother finally 'approved' of their relationship, and I've never seen the pink-haired as happy as she was before. Although she gets insecure at times seeing that girls really like Kai, I can say that the guy really likes her so much- or rather, love. And plus, they look so cute together, so I can only hope that they'll remain even stronger in the future.

Ann and Cliff have been married as well, and honestly, that couple just looks adorable as they really complement each other so much. There would be the usual little arguments between them, but the two would always fix it before the day ends. The Doctor and Elli are doing well, too, and their wedding is coming in a week's notice. I'm happy that the Doctor has finally found someone that could totally make him feel happy, that will reciprocate his feelings back, although Elli has always been there by his side.

I heard Mary was seeing someone from Forget-Me-Not Valley, although she has yet to give her answer. I hope everything would go along well for her, though. She's nice and sweet, albeit very shy, so I really wish the best for her. She's been really kind, and I hope the guy is nice enough to her.

It was already 6PM. Zack had already came by to collect what I put inside my shipping bin, and I have been at rest for around thirty minutes now. But Gray was still out, and he was supposed to come out at 1PM, so he should've been out five hours ago. I wonder what he's up to. He's been working hard lately, and I guess it was for the blacksmith exams. I hope he does pass, he deserves it.

At 6:30, a knock was heard outside. I opened the door and saw Gray panting, a wide smile on his face. I let him inside, as he took a seat on the bed, the grin still seen on his face. As Third toddled towards his side, he suddenly lifted him up on air, happiness painted on his face.

"I passed the exam! I passed the exam, I'm so happy..."

At the sudden interjection, I went over them and hugged them. Gray really seemed so happy, and I'm satisfied seeing him like that. As we laid down on bed that night, we whispered each other the words that could only hold so much meaning for the both of us.

"I love you so much, Claire Williams."

"And I love you so much, too, Gray Williams."

the end.

Okay, this is finally done after three years. Thank you for all the love you have showered this story, although it is so cringe-y and the author is shitty with updates. I hope you also give love to my other stories as well, although it is really far different from this one...

I love you all guys! 💜💜 Thanks for reading 'Seasonal Change'! Byee...
