Chapter 6

           Maybe no comments.... I know you've been waiting for this for so long. Let's start.

~Claire's POV~
            It's been weeks, since Gray became so distant to me. It's bothering me, because everytime I see him, he just stays away from me. It's like we haven't been friends. He keeps ignoring me and just neglect my presence. So I decided to follow Dr. Trent's advice but even though I do it, mz heart still wants to approach Gray and ask him what's the problem.

          I was now at the Inn, for lunch. I just finished all the farm works, and maybe I should take a rest now. Later on, Dr. Trent came. Me, him, Ann and of course Cliff chatted about the happenings in this town. We talked about the Spring Horse Races, with them asking me if I'll join in or not. I told them I won't since the horse Barley told me to take care is still young. They said that next year they wanted me to see racing with my horse, which made me just nod in response. While talking, someone opened the door so harshly, which made Ann yell in anger.

"Hey! If you're in a foul mood, just keep it to yourself and don't destroy other properties! Remember Gray, this Inn is not yours!" Ann yelled, slamming her fist on the table.

"I don't care." Gray answered sarcastically, then headed off to his room.

        Gray Williams… what's happening to you? You've really changed a lot since that day. I stood up and followed him, even though the doctor tried to stop me from doing it.

       I knock on his door, which he opened in a harsh manner. When he saw me, he almost closed it, but I prevented him. He asked me what I'm doing here.

"Why are you here? If you don't have any business to do with me, leave me alone." he said curtly.

"Gray, let's talk this about. You can't do this to me without any big reasons." I said.

"No. Just go away. You're just making my life more messed-up." he stated.

"Why are you being like that to me?!" I snapped, my own anger rising. "What I have done to you? What made you stay away from me, huh? Is it about when Ann told my crush? What's the problem with that? So what if Dr. Trent's my crush? What is it to you?"

"It's because I like you Claire! I liked you. You're the only person who made me feel that I have a worth." he told me. My cheeks then suddenly felt hot.

"What?! But…" I trailed off, unsure of what to say.

"But what? But you like Dr. Trent? Oh yeah, you like him, right?"

"Yes. I liked him. And I don't know how to deal with this now because I never knew you liked me. I can't return the feelings Gray, but I don't want you to be in pain, even though it's impossible for that to happen."

"Just… leave me. Please leave me." he requested, voice low. I just left him there.

~Ann's POV~
        Claire followed that jerk when he went to his room. Maybe they need to settle this down, because as the days passed by, Gray's been more worse than ever.

      When Claire went down, however, she was on the verge of crying. The doctor quickly came to her and escorted her back to our table. When she sat down, tears trickled down to her cheeks.

"I just… I made it worser." she told us, voice hoarse.

"How?" I interrogated.

"I just hurted him more. I never knew he liked me, and now that he… that he knew I already liked someone pains him so much."

I hugged her. "Don't worry. Things will be okay soon."

"I just wished Ann, I just wished." she said as she hugged me too.
