-Finnick's POV-

I refuse to leave Mags' hospital room. The doctor said she is lucky we noticed when we did. She probably will never be able to talk again, and will need to use a cane, but she'll live. Johanna stays with us and Cashmere comes by every few hours to check in. Blight has kept us updated on the games, but nothing new has happened.

It seems Herman has stopped torturing Amily but he's still holding her captive. It's been 2 days since the incident and nobody has died. Rocky and Herman have been arguing over when to kill Amily so it's only a matter of time before one snaps and kills the other. Considering it's just the three of them, Dorian, Bruno, and Amily left I'm surprised they're still grouped together.

I know I should get back to the mentors lounge to help my tributes but I can't leave Mags here alone. She hates hospitals. Johanna, my best friend since she won the games last year, hasn't left us since she found us in the mentor room despite the fact that she also hates hospitals.

Johanna finally lets me go back to the lounge with Cashmere to watch the games. She promised she'd stay with Mags the whole time I'm gone. I thank her and head to the lounge with Cashmere.
"I hope Rocky and Saph die in that arena," she grumbles.

Shocked by her words, you give her a dumbfounded look.

"They just stood by and let that idiot torture her. They could have stopped him. Hell! Saph could have let her escape when the boys were out but no. I guess none of them are decent humans with even a sense of empathy."

You give Cashmere a thankful glance as you mutter, "I hope they die too."

As I enter the lounge, I feel the stares of the other mentors piercing me. Normally I wouldn't mind the attention but not today. Today, I just wanted to be left alone.

I receive a few words of sympathy about Amily and Mags from the other victors but they can tell I want to be alone. Cashmere sits with me and takes away all the alcohol I try to indulge in. I know she means well but I could kill for some brandy right now.

Watching the screen showing Amily in the cave, I can tell that she's somewhat conscious. She's awake in the sense that her eyes are open and she's sitting up but she's not mentally there. It seems like she's having a really bad dissociative episode. They aren't uncommon amongst tributes and victors, however I've never seen one this bad. She hasn't eaten in 2 days and has only had a few sips of water that Sapphire has forced down her throat. I guess she's been tasked to keep her alive until the career boys figure out what to do with her.

The arena is growing dark again as it is just past sundown when the main screen switches from the Career's cave to Rocky and Herman, who seem to be quickly approaching Bruno. Sensing a fight coming, the mentors turn their attention to the screen.

Bruno lasts surprisingly long for a 2 on 1 fight with the careers. He manages to get Rocky pretty good with a blade to his stomach but he didn't manage to kill him. Shortly after slicing Rocky, Bruno was impaled by Herman's sword and his cannon sounded.

Leaving Rocky laying on the ground, Herman spits, "Good riddance! Now I can finally kill pretty little district 4. I won't put you out of your misery though, I'll leave you here to suffer."

Cashmere stares at the screen, clearly not shocked. "All I hope is Saph kills Herman and Rocky bleeds out quickly. I'm getting a drink," she sighs as she walks to the bar in the back of the lounge.

Blight comes in the lounge with an update from Johanna. The doctors are going to keep Mags sedated to heal until after the games end. Johanna and Blight are going to take shifts watching her in case anything happens. I thank Blight and turn my attention back to the screen, anxiously waiting for Herman's arrival back at the cave.
