-Amily's POV-

I started my meds again. They're working but I still don't feel great. The sky is gloomy every day now and all I want to do is sleep. Anchor and Finnick drag me out of my house as much as they can and Anchor makes me show him my arms when Finnick is distracted. I haven't started cutting again as all sharp objects have been banned from my house. The kitchen knives are locked up (everyone seems to have a key except me) and Annie keeps my razors from me unless I'm showering.

"What do you want to do for your birthday next week?" asked Finnick as we sat together on the beach. Annie's birthday had passed a few weeks ago. She had a lunch with the victors before eating dinner with her parents and then spending the night at Trent's.

"Oh um I don't know," I responded. Annie and Trent, who had been tagging along on our beach days, were walking along the shore and Anchor was surfing in the frigid December water.

"Well how about I plan something and then and we can surprise you," he smiled.

"I'm not a fan of surprises," you state.

"Don't worry," he said. "It will be a good surprise and I'll get Annie's approval first."

Reluctantly agreeing you went back to zoning out, the sound of the waves nearly putting you to sleep.

The night before your birthday, Annie gave you the agenda Finnick had planned.

"At 9am we are going on an easy hike with Phillip, Mimi, Anchor, Trent, and Finnick and then we will have lunch at Phillip's house," she stated. "After lunch we will hang out at our house with the Victors and have a spa day to relax. Finnick and Anchor agreed to let us paint their nails!"

You audibly laughed at this. Annie was happy that your laugh returned after weeks of it being absent.

"Then we are having dinner and dessert at Mags's house!" she finished. Honestly it sounded like exhausting day but you were glad it sounded at least a little bit fun.

The morning hike was not easy, despite Annie's description. The view from the top of the cliffs you were on was breathtaking but the pain of getting there made it almost not worth it. After the hike, you quickly showered at your place before going to Phillip's for lunch.

The spa part of the day was a ton of fun. Anchor only let Annie paint his nails with clear polish but Finnick let you paint his nails black. He attempted to paint yours black too but he was horrible at it. It also didn't help that both of your hands were shaking from laughing so hard. Trent painted Annie's nails purple and was actually pretty good at it. Annie made sure Mags got a manicure too and she ended up with white nails. After nails, we did face masks and played a game of truth or dare (Annie's suggestion of course).

"Ok Anchor, truth or dare?" asked Annie.

"Truth," he responded.

"What's the most embarrassing thing you have done in front of the other victors?"

Mags let out a quiet laugh as Anchor's face turned red.

"Um a few months after my games I got super drunk and pissed on Mags's floor," he said embarrassed. "In my drunk state her floor looked a lot like a toilet." Warren laughed at this.

Awhile into the game, the older victors went to Mags' to start prepping dinner, leaving Anchor, Finnick, Annie, Trent and I in my living room.

Due to Phillip's absence, we decided to break out a bottle of whisky. We were now doing only truths but if you didn't want to answer you had to take a drink.

"Ok Trent," you begin to ask, already feeling tipsy. "Why does Annie always come home covered in hickeys?"

Annie slaps your shoulder as Trent reaches for the bottle, taking a large sip.

"Ok Amily," Trent retorted. You were already prepared to drink. "When are you going to start dating someone? You can't be single forever."

"Oh never," you stated, glad to not be drinking for this one. "I have no intentions of ever dating people. I can happily be single forever." Trent rolls his eyes along with Annie.

"Ok I'm passing my turn off to Annie since I'm out of questions to ask," you say, taking a sip of water.

"Ok Finnick," Annie starts. "Do you have a crush on Amily?" Finnick looks taken aback by this question.

"No we're just friends," he answers confidently.
"I think you have to drink if you lie," laughs Anchor.

Finnick gives him a look and states, "Anchor, this is the circle of truth. I am an honest man who is telling the truth."

You smile at Finnick for his answer. He gives you a nervous smile back.

Phillip yells from your porch that it's time for dinner, so your group heads next door to Mags' house.

After a nice meal, Annie tells you it's time for presents. She knows you hate presents but you do your best to smile and act happy. Phillip and Mimi gift you some nice plates for your house. You thank them exclaiming how it will help you procrastinate on washing dishes.

Next, Warren gives you some knitting supplies and says that he can teach you how to use them. You thank him and go to open Mags' gift. She gifts you the softest blanket you have ever felt and you immediately wrap it around you.

Annie and Trent give you some new stylish clothes to help you "keep up with the trends." Anchor gives you a wetsuit in the hopes you'll start swimming again. You haven't been in the water since your games.

You thank him and open Finnick's gift last. It's a necklace with a shell on it. You immediately put it on and it lays perfectly above Annie's necklace. Annie won't let you give it back no matter how much you insist. Thanking everyone, you head home to get some sleep.

That night you laid in bed thinking about all the ups and downs of the past 6 months. Surely it couldn't get worse. Could it?

AN: Ahhh it's the end of Book 1! What did you guys think? This is most likely the shortest book besides maybe Mockingjay so apologies for the length! I've already finished Book 2 and will start publishing it tomorrow. It will be available on my page as a separate Wattpad story to keep the series organized. Make sure to add it to your library :)
