Chapter 22~ Moving on

This is a time skip of a year and a half. Most like catching up on what's been going on.

Mikey's:

Tv News broadcasts.

On July 28th, 2028. Mikey Riker was admitted to prison after admitting to planning and murdering the Twins of New Jersey, Jax, and his sister Kat. From what we've been told, Mikey was once a lover to the twins and spoke of mental abuse and entrapment with a crest embedded in his skin. Due to this information, many have come forward with the same information without knowing one another. The judge has ruled in favor of Mikey and the public; to sentence him to 9 months in prison with parole. From what the police have told us that Mikey brought down two of the longest investigation of these criminals, a relief for the police. Jax was on a death list due to his physique ability and Kat was to be sentenced to life in prison. This turned very much 90 degrees within just a few trials in the last few weeks. All in favor of the Mafia.

During his time in prison, Mikey was visited by a few of his employees/crew members to make sure that everything was running smoothly during his absence. The club was still booming, even more now that the public felt safer than the first incident with the victim. She did come forward and helped Mikey lower his sentence and she did visit him a few times as well to thank him. 

There wasn't much to do in prison apart from planning a new development such as an art gallery. A little fun fact about Mikey, he did enjoy historical art, and giving a safe place for them was a start. Also, that gave him a place to visit if he grew overwhelmed. He set out plans from his prison for his crew to manage, hoping in the next few years that he can put his own collection inside.

Az did in fact come to visit Mikey. They both talked a lot about how Mikey took the blame away from Az so he could remain hidden from the public in his affair of joining in on the plan within their plan. They kept it hushed during their visits. It felt good to Mikey to know that Az kept in touch with his sister Valeria about the situation and how he ended up in prison. Az did get an ear full from Valeria about him being in prison but what could be done, she knew the risk and Mikey allowed himself to be caught. It was a way to show that shit needed to be done, it just happened that he was not alone in the world seeing many hated the Twins for what they had done. Manipulating people's minds in getting what they wanted. 

During the time Mikey was locked away, Az on the other hand expanded his club and added a secret zone in the basement for those to indulge in sexual acts without anyone knowing. He also managed and built a mall for the city that was close in stores with the one from Genesis along with a small public skating rink. This was also because Val enjoyed skating when she was younger and hasn't had the time lately. Hopefully, when she comes back, he can surprise her.

There were also a few things that she would come home to, his face now held a scar from the fight he had with Jax, and his body was more prominent in muscles since he had been working out to keep himself busy during the downtime, but he still kept his body lean for agility. His hair grew out about past shoulder length and he landed himself more tattoos, specifically his whole front, back, and both arms fully covered.

When he was away from the club or any other task he needed to get done. Az would drive out to the cabin to repair a certain vehicle he owns. The be exact, it was his father's truck. He had been working on it non-stop until it was fully running in order to bring it back to the city for a full makeover. It took about 8 months of work and only 4 months of a makeover before he was able to bring it back to the Pit, parked next to Valeria's Miata that he covered with a tarp so it wouldn't be weather damaged during her time away.

Both Az and Valeria shared a few texts when they could since their timeline was very different. She would be awake when he would be asleep. There were only a few times when the both of them would be able to talk over the phone before one another would either go to bed or go to work. It was hard at first but they grew to have a routine after only 2 months apart. Valeria would send texts of the few pieces of clothing she would wear on her days off from school, showing some new art pieces she bought for her room or just the food she would be eating.

She made sure to apply her hard work to her studies. She promised Az she would graduate and that was her plan. There were times she wouldn't even bother going out with her friends because she was struggling. She did look over the few photos she had with Az when she left. It had made her cry a few times but she kept reminding herself that it's temporary and its to test their relationship. Not once has it been boring between them even this far away. There was always something to talk about.

After New years, she had made a meeting with the school board about going back home to graduate since she is a foreigner and she had no family in Japan. They contested her at first but seeing that she had never missed a class, had almost perfect scores, and was able to complete a physical attendance at the hospital for her hours. They allowed her to go back home on one condition. It was to attend each class until mid-June before graduation. She agreed. When she left, she was overjoyed with emotion that she was allowed to go back home a month sooner. It wasn't much but it was better than nothing. Besides, she wanted them to be at her graduation.

Another few months had passed and in April, Mikey was released from Prison. Az was able to bring him back home and get him settled. It wasn't too hard settling back but he did miss eating steak. When he was able to communicate with Valeria once more, Mikey heard everything she had to say about her plan on coming back home and he was happy that he could see her at the end of the month. As Mikey was prepping her room, she was boxing up everything she owed and hung out with her friends a bit more than studying. She wanted to make sure they wouldn't miss her too much. And when the time came, they escorted her to the airport with all her belongings. It was a sad goodbye since it would be a while before she would visit them. She'd make sure to stay in contact with them entirely.

When her flight was over and her feet had touched the U.S. Mikey was already waiting at the gates. His hair grew a bit more but remained well-kept. His body grew in muscles, wider than she last saw him. And he now had a full-leg tattoo. She was impressed but also very happy to see him.

As per their plan, she remained quiet and attended each class as per her university's request until graduation in early July.

Valeria was mostly excited to see Az.. and finally wanted him...
