"We'll cmon you can explain inside it's freezing out here." Kyra says as she wraps a blanket around Soren that she had brought out for herself.
"Thank you." He smiles.
"Don't mention it." She replies.
They all head inside and Ibis makes the knight some tea.
"It's my dad." He starts.
"Lord Viren? He's here in Xadia?" Callum chimes in.
Soren nods.
"He's rallied the armies of four kingdoms, and it's not just that. We went to the.... Sun elf place? And my dad.... He stole some kind of horrible power. And he used it to transform his armies into.... Into something else."
"What do you mean?" Ezran asks.
"They're stronger, angrier, big .... Claws. He's made an army of darkness and he's leading them here... for him. The dragon prince." He gestures towards Zym.
Everyone glances at each other, worryingly.
Soren then takes a long, loud sip of his drink.
"I did use the word doomed."
"Yes. Yes you did." Rayla states.
Everyone seems to have gone their separate ways. Callum went to go talk to Ibis about sky magic, Soren went to take a nap, and Ezran was playing with Bait and Zym. That just leaves you and Rayla.
"So, you and Callum huh? Never would've guessed." Kyra joked.
"Yeah, yeah save the teasing for later." The elf said smiling.
They both decide to sharpen their swords.
"Soooo what about you and Soren?" Rayla asked with a smirk.
"Oh! I- we're just friends." She quickly spat out.
"Of course, and friends run and hug each other like you guys did." Rayla continued.
"I-" but before she could argue, Soren walked in.
"Hey sorry I don't mean to interrupt, I just wanted to borrow Kyra for a quick second." He says with a hand nervously behind his neck.
"Of course, I'll go find Callum. You two have fun." Rayla leaves with a wink, making both of them turn bright red.
He sits down next to her.
"Sooo what did you want to talk about?" Kyra starts to twiddle her fingers.
"I-I just wanted to say thank you again, for everything..... for sticking with me even through my bad times." He smiles shyly.
"Of course, I would never leave you." She responds.
He blushes.
"Y'know what, in about an hour met me on top of the spire."
"Why?" She questioned.
"You'll see." He said with a wink.
She blushes and nods, as he walks out of the room.
"Yes!" He mutters to himself and makes an overly dramatic "hell yeah" gesture.
Callum sees Soren acting overly happy for someone whose "doomed", in his words.
"What's got you so excited?" Callum asks him.
"Oh! I need your advice, but you gotta promise not to tell anyone." Soren replied.
"Um sure." He responded.
They walked outside so nobody could hear them.
"Soooo what did you want help with?" Callum asks, a little nervous.
"You're with Rayla, right?" Soren questioned.
"Oh um yeah." Callum blushes.
"Do you know anything that elves would like?" Soren spoke.
"Why would you- wait! Is this about who I think it is?" Callum said smirking.
"I.... Yeah. So say hypothetically that I asked a certain elf girl to meet me on the top of the spire in an hour, what would said elf girl like?"
"Like as in a present?" Callum questions.
"Yeah." He rubs the back of his neck.
"Well I don't know about anything specific to elves, but you can never go wrong with giving a girl flowers-" Callum starts but is quickly interrupted by Soren.
"That's a great idea! Thanks man!" He runs off.
Callum smiles.
"Okay I have an hour to find some pretty flowers, shouldn't be too hard!" The knight thinks to himself.
Soren prepares his gift and quickly rushes to a mirror to fix himself up. He then goes to the top of the spire, where he said he'd meet her.
He walks up the stairs to see her already sitting on the ledge. She looked beautiful, the sunset behind her.
She turns and sees him.
"Oh! Hey!" She gets up and walks over to him, smiling.
"H-hey." He hides the flowers behind his back.
"How are you?" He questions.
"I'm doing alright. What about you?" She asks.
"I'm good." He stands there awkwardly for a moment.
"These are for you. Sorry if they're not that pretty, I couldn't find many flowers up here." He holds out a small bouquet of wildflowers and blushes.
Her eyes light up when she sees them.
"Soren these are beautiful. What's the occasion?"
She asks.
"Oh! Um I just thought I'd get you something, even if it's just flowers." He rubs the back of his neck.
"Well, thank you Soren." She smiles softly.
"Of course." He blushes.
"Here, come sit and watch the sunset with me." She suggests, sitting down on the ledge and patting next to her for him to sit down.
"I'd love too." He responds
He sits down next to her.
"It's really beautiful, isn't it?" She smiles.
"Yeah it is." He says looking at her instead of the sunset, with a goofy grin.
She chuckles and blushes when she notices he's looking at her.
"Y'know it's rude to stare, mister crownguard."
She says with a smirk.
He quickly turns away and blushes.
"Well how am I supposed to not stare when you're so beautiful." Soren looks back at her.
Now she's the one who turns red.
"T-thanks." She manages to get out.
"O-of course!" Soren avoids her gaze.
There's a moment of comfortable silence before Kyra puts her hand on his.
He stiffens, then shifts into a comfortable position.
Holding her hand.
She puts her head on his shoulder as he squeezes her hand a little.
"K-Kyra.... I" Soren starts.
She turns her attention to him.
They make eye contact and slowly start to lean into each other. They close their eyes and....
"Hey guys! We're going to discuss the battle plan now- oh sorry!" Ezran covers his eyes with his hands.
They both quickly pull away from each other and turn bright red.
"R-right! We'll be right there Ezran." Kyra stutters.
"Alrighty." Ezran says still covering his eyes.
"Don't keep covering your eyes Ezran! You'll fall off the mountain!" Kyra shouts.
Ezran runs down the stairs with his hands still covering his eyes, giggling.
"That kid is going to be the death of me." She chuckled.
She turns to Soren, who smiles back at her.
"Guess we should get back now." Soren nervously says.
"Yep.... But before we do."
She walks over to him and kisses his cheek.
"There you go." She smiles at him as he turns bright red.
She makes her way down the stairs, still blushing.
Leaving him stunned on top of the spire.
