Rai's POV

The first year of school is always going to be a challenging one. But I don't know what she's so nervous about honestly.

Well, I guess it is a cramped place full of strangers that you don't know. Eh still, surely it's going to be fine.

Besides, she doesn't need to keep clinging to me every time she needs help.

I looked at the signboard above the class, Class 1-B.

Before I even reached my hand to the doorknob, a sudden sharp pain entered my head.

"Tch, a headache right now?" I mumbled under my breath.

Luckily it was enough for me to endure it...

I twisted the door handle with a tight grip and saw the inside of the class, it looked like the students were doing some writing exercises. The teacher who was sitting at her desk saw me and beamed in delight.

"Alright, class! Let's stop writing for a second, now if you didn't know, we have a new student! Why don't you introduce yourself?" She said to me softly.

I stood still and looked around the class for a bit, most of them looked interested.

"Well, hello." I waved. "I'm a new student here from Exalos and you can just call me Rai."

It was the generic introduction for any new student. Their reactions look okay, I think I did pretty well.

"Ah, Rai! Alright then, go ahead and sit over there in the middle seat."

There was an empty seat next to a white-haired girl from Avaria. I placed my bag and looked around as I sat.

The girl placed her pen on the table and looked at me.

"Hello there, I'm Elysia! So, need any help with anything about the school?

"Hi! Uh, is this seat usually empty?" I asked.

"Mhm. There are 24 tables in this class since this school loves to have partner work. Sadly they didn't know that the student numbers would be uneven. In the end, I usually end up alone." She gave an off chuckle.

"Hm. Why does nobody want to sit beside you?"

"Well uh, it's complicated-" she paused.

She pushed that topic aside. "Enough about that for now. You got the history textbook, right? You're pretty far behind for starting school at the end of the year but I'm pretty sure you'll catch up! Just open to page 78." I see her trying to keep her black wings from opening, so maybe I shouldn't bother her.

I guess wings are like tails, they can move around without command sometimes if we can't control certain emotions.

I followed whatever the heck she was saying and the teacher continued talking, looks like even the headache I had is gone now.

"So, does anybody know all of the 10 regions of Feleanor excluding Almanzoz?" The teacher asked.

Some people raised their hands, including Elysia.

"Alright, Elysia?" The teacher didn't even look at the other students.

The other students dropped their hands in disappointment, while some even started whispering to each other.

"Caspian, Easton, Krumus, Alvaro, Glyswing, Avaria, Navarre, Exalos, Arkolath and Rusvil."

"Good job, Elysia! You're so good at this." She complimented.

I eyed her looking a bit flushed while she was pretending to stare at her book.

"The way she complimented you by answering a basic question feels kind of iffy, don't you think?" I gave her a gaze.
