Chapter 9

Rai's POV

My head began to resonate with a ring.

I tried to conceal the impending headache as much as I could, with the sharp pain still persisting in the recesses of my mind.

"H-hey, are you okay? You seem tired."

Elysia noticed my tightly shut eyes and my uncomfortable expression from the ringing, she immediately rose to her feet and tried to calm me down.

It wasn't long after the two boys took notice of me as well.

Fortunately, the teachers arrived, preparing for the Streak Showcase to begin.

Still, it doesn't help me calm the heck down.

Citrus, sensing my distress, firmly gripped both of my shoulders as I covered my ears.

"Are you okay?"

I sighed. "I'm fine now, I just had a headache."

Although, I still have it.

After we ended our little talk, students were already grouping up by class at the court beside the garden.

The sky was a bit damp, and everyone was looking up with feelings of worry.

There was a small stage with two teachers on it, one was in front of a mic, in charge of speaking.

"Alright everyone, due to the weather today, I'm not sure if we're able to do a full Streak Showcase unfortunately."

A lot of people sighed and groaned over the fact that some have probably waited a whole month for an event like this.

"If there was a person with a Streak that could change the weather, maybe things would've been different, but we're not like the gods above. So we just have to accept it. However..."

Everyone looked up with hope for a change.

"You will still get full permissions to use your Streaks for this period. No, there will not be any violence. But we can still have a small challenge for you guys to execute."

The crowd of students celebrated in joy.

"Usually, we would prepare a more difficult challenge, but your goal this month will be simple. My Streak is able to repair and reconstruct objects, so you will have the challenge to destroy this plastic bin. Destroying it normally will get you points. If someone can make it turn into ash, or make it disappear completely, until I won't be able to repair it, you would basically get the maximum amount of points that we can give, which is 100."

The power of the Streak that the teacher had was "Reconstruction" where if someone breaks a certain item and if the power can be used within an hour, they are able to turn it back into new as if nothing ever happened to it. They could even do it as many times as they want.

The teacher who had to do that has a light yellow streak, though.

The power seems rare- while Citrus's one is very common, but yellow is just above blue. I became quite perplexed by this, and sometimes I wish they could teach us more about Streaks normally.

I recalled what Akata said to me about a week ago.

The more lighter the Streak colour, the more it relates to defence. And vise versa.

There were only 6 tins in the garden, it was then divided equally for every 6 class.

Each class only gets to share one tin, so they wouldn't waste material.
