Colt wiped the sweat off of his forehead as he finished his early morning training with the warriors. He was running on barely a few hours of shut eye, which wasn't anything new for him, but here he knew that he was distracted by reasons other than lack of sleep.

He was supposed to leave with Trevor in roughly thirty minutes to go to the beach with him and his friends, a decision he was now regretting considering the load of work he had. Theo reassured him that he didn't need to worry, that the beta would handle everything, but that didn't do much to put him at ease.

As much as he wanted to avoid Roman, he couldn't help but gravitate towards him. It was a need so deep, as if every cell in his body was begging him to find his mate. To touch him. To be one with him.

Colt recalled the conversation he had with Trevor as he showered to freshen up for the outing. Trevor didn't know much about Roman, apparently the man had transferred from his old college to Havenswood in his junior year, for reasons unknown, and was going to begin his senior year soon after the summer holidays.

He was a very talented swimmer, as Colt had already figured. Other than that, Trevor wasn't sure what Roman's major was, he said that he was sixty percent certain that he had heard Roman talking about going to law school, though. Or maybe medical school? He really couldn't recall. He was part Puerto Rican, but never talked about his family. Trevor knew he was a little older than the rest of his peers, at around twenty three.

That was it. That was all Colt knew about his mate.

He wasn't quite sure why he agreed to go to the beach. When he was away from Roman, it was as if he had clarity. He knew that he would do everything in his power to push away the mate bond as far as he could. But whenever Roman was near...his mind grew foggy. All the more reason why he had to maintain his resolve.

He was not going to give in to the bond.

That is what Colt kept repeating in his head as he drove to the beach with Trevor in the passenger side and Matteo in the backseat. Apparently he was in the swim team too. Huh, Colt didn't know.

Matteo was once again surprised to see their Alpha joining in. Colt wasn't known to party it up, but this time Matteo kept his mouth shut and didn't ask any questions. Colt wondered whether Trevor had already said anything to him. He would just have to figure that out later.

Colt followed behind the two werewolves as they walked over to the beach to find the rest of their friends. Colt was dressed in a tank top and shorts, much different than his usual attire. There seemed to be a total of ten people including Colt and his two pack mates.

Colt's eyes immediately landed on Roman. He was shirtless, as was expected. Colt had already seen his bare upper body, but that didn't change his reaction upon seeing it for a second time. In the golden sunlight, his skin was glistening. His smooth muscles had a lightest hint of abs, his V line was much more defined, however.

His waist was lean and trim, and his legs were long and firm. His calves, especially, flexed with every movement. The tight beach shorts he was wearing didn't leave much for imagination. His entire physique was a testament of his sport, of grace and endurance. Colt didn't know how to remove his eyes from the captivating sight in front of him.

Trevor cleared his throat from beside him, as if telling his Alpha that his stare was ridiculously obvious. Colt finally managed to look away, but the three walked closer to the rest, and Colt's eyes met Roman's.

Colt remained in the background. He wasn't interested in talking to anybody. He was thankful that he had remembered to keep his sunglasses, because now nobody would know where his gaze was fixed at. Colt sat on one of the beach chairs, a beer can in his hand as he tried to relax. He couldn't even remember the last time he had been to the ocean.
