When he was about to leave the class, mr Farouk just spoke and said:
"Charlie, wait a moment, please. I'm gonna give you something"
And he just offered him a paper. It was a submission to become Head Boy.
"Really, mr Farouk?", he answered, "I'm not really sure I could be able to do that"
"Charlie, I'm not gonna pressure you into it, okay? But just consider, you doing that could inspire for a lot of people here, you know"
"Well, I'll think about it I guess, but I just don't think someone like me could really have that much of a pressence in an all-boys school, sir"
"No pressure, but I just think it could really be very important for the school"
Nick and Charlie were just sitting side by side in Nick's doorway.

"So... mr Farouk just wants me to apply to become Head Boy now?"
"Char! That's wonderful, are you doing it?"
"Do you really think I could?"
"Of course, you're a proper little nerd, you're meant for the task"
"Shut up, not everything is about that, I'd have to be talking to people a lot and getting involved in the student's requests and all that stuff"
"Char, honestly, not because I'm your boyfriend of something, but you definitely should at least apply"
"Do you think a gay skinny nerd like me really can do this?"
"Char, listen to me. I'm not gonna say this twice and I need you understand. You're the kindest, most thoughtful and caring and amazing person in the whole world. You could definitely do a change and maybe be an role model for other queer boys at school, for them to see that they're worth it, they can do it, and they deserve to be proud and happy. That's what you did to me, so maybe there are some other younger Nick Nelsons out there, just too scared and afraid to embrace their true selves. And you could really do a big change for them."
They were both almost crying at this point.
"And I'm absolutely not saying that because I'm your boyfriend and I'm obsessed and properly in love with you, but you know, that's the truth. You are strong, and confident about your identity, and clever, and fuck them all if they don't think you could be the best Head Boy fucking Truham Grammar School for Boys has ever had. Got it?"
