After they were informed of Iceman’s death, Evelyn and Hennessey had left without a word as to where they were heading. No one could get a hold of either girl. Evelyn went to her mother’s, wanting to be alone with her family. While, Hennessey went to her mother’s bar, wanting to drink some of her sorrows away and have her mother’s comfort.

"Henne, baby..." Penny started, rubbing her daughter's hand, "Come stay the night."

"Mom, come to the funeral, please," Hennessey begged between hiccups.

"I will, baby, I will. Sarah already asked me," Penny reassured. Mickey and Natasha walked into the bar, immediately spotting the mother and grief-stricken daughter. Penny glanced up and waved them over.

"Baby, Phoenix and Fanboy are here. I need to tend to a customer really quickly," Penny gently said. Hennessey nodded.

Natasha sat next to Hennessey, rubbing her back in a circular motion. Mickey stared longingly at Hennessey, it hurt him to see her so upset. Penny and Mickey made eye contact and Penny motioned him over to a different part of the bar, away from Hennessey and Natasha.

"Lieutenant Garcia, I wanted to say thank you for bringing my daughter home the other night when she was drunk," Penny started.

"It's fine, Ms. Benjamin, I'm just surprised your daughter hasn't ripped me a new one for driving her truck," Mickey scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.

"She does love that truck to death. And you can call me Penny," Penny started, causing Mickey to nod silently. Penny looked back at her daughter.

"I see how you look at Hennessey. I think you'll be good for her. She just needs time to open her heart to you. More than she has. Especially now," Penny finished, catching Mickey off guard.

"Penny," Mickey was at a loss for words. She knew that he liked her daughter and she was okay with it?

"Just prove it to her," Penny stated before walking away to tend to a customer.

Mickey looked back at Natasha and Hennessey. Henne was leaning her head against Natasha's shoulder while Natasha was hugging her. Her mom and their friends were right. He had to prove himself before the mission.

The next morning Hennessey woke up in her room at her mother's house. Hennessey looked around, her eyes trying to adjust to her surroundings as her head pounded.

"Last time I'm getting fucking wasted like that," Henne mumbled, "What the hell happened last night?"

The night was a blur. Henne remembered going to the Hard Deck last night after finding out Iceman died. She also could remember crying to her mother and drinking. A lot. She remembered a blur of Natasha joining her at one point but that was as far as her night had gone.

Hennessey climbed out of her bed, already wanting to go back to the comfort of her pillows and duvet. Her foot got caught in the corner of the duvet, causing the woman to fall face first onto the wooden floor.

"Fuck," Henne held her forehead, as she picked herself up off of the floor. She opened her door, heading down the hall to the bathroom.

"Did you fall out of bed?" Amelia called out from the kitchen.

Hennessey knocked on the wall of the hallway twice. When Amelia was young, Hennssey had taught her a way of communicating through knocks. Two for yes, and one for no.

The young pilot looked in the mirror, her eyes and cheeks still bloodshot and puffy from the crying the night before. Hennessey splashed cold water on her face, trying to simultaneously wake herself up and calm her pounding headache.
