The enemy flew under and passed the two men. Marilyn then pulled up after Vulture yelled at her to do so. Maneater stayed close behind the enemy. Maverick leveled out before quickly dropping the nose of the jet.
"Holy shit," Rooster exclaimed, bracing himself with the canopy. Maneater glanced back quickly, seeing Maverick racing towards her and the enemy jet. She quickly pulled up to let Maverick get a clear shot. Maverick got a lock on the enemy aircraft.
"I got tone. Taking the shot," Maverick fired a missile. Unfortunately, the enemy had also been paying attention and fired his flares.
"Damn it!"
"Out of missiles. Switching to guns," Maverick informed before firing his guns.
"Come on, Mav, come on," Maverick muttered to himself.
"You got him, Mav!" Rooster cheered.
"It's not over yet," Maverick mumbled, firing once more.
Maneater followed her father closely behind, she was out of guns and didn't want to risk missiles with Maverick and Rooster between her and the newer jet. Marilyn, unfortunately, only had guns on her aircraft, no missiles.
"One last chance," Maverick glanced at how many rounds he had left. Thirty-three rounds left.
"You can do this," Rooster encouraged.
"Come on, Maverick."
Maverick had managed to get the engines significantly damaged on the newer aircraft. Maverick, Maneater, and then Marilyn all quickly passed by the jet as it flew into a rocky side of a mountain. They had all seen the enemy parachute out just seconds before contact.
"Yes! Splash two!" Rooster and Vulture cheered.
The group of pilots were all breathing heavily. They just had experienced back to back dangerous moments just trying to get out of enemy territory. The three F-14's flew out and over the ocean, now they had to just hope for the best when it came to them getting back home. Marilyn and Maverick flew side by side, Maneater behind both of them.
Maneater began messing with switches once more, a quiet, fading beeping breaking through. She had gotten her comms on, now to get on the same channel as the others. Rooster also was messing with the switches and breakers, before a beeping came through for them too. A screen lit up as well.
"Mav, I got the radio on," Rooter informed.
"Outstanding. Get us in touch with the boat. And the other two," Maverick said.
"Copy that."
Alarms started going off, two buttons flashing red.
"Oh, my god," Maverick mumbled.
"Vulture, Marilyn. Come in. Maneater, come in," Rooster called out over the comms.
"I've never been more happy to hear your annoying voice, Roo," Vulture answered back. Marilyn chuckled. Maneater responded to Rooster in heavy breathing, her adrenaline had run out for the time being. Which meant she could feel every ounce of pain as it
"Manester, you okay?" Marilyn asked. Vulture glanced back, worried as Maneater let out a sharp inhale in response.
The beeping continued through everyone's comms.
"Where the hell is this guy?" Rooster asked, changing the subject. Maverick and Marilyn all began looking around.
"He's on our nose," Maverick stated. Sure enough, two jets were coming straight towards the three F-14's.
"Damn it, we're out of ammo," Maverick stated, firing his guns only for no ammo to come out.
Both jets shot a missile out at the F-14's. Maneater rose up, making herself known. Adrenaline was pumping through everyone.
