A few weeks later and Eddie and Buck's prank war was continuing, making it more laughable that Buck was now a fire marshall. All the texts that Ronnie recieved from the team were complaining about Buck, Ronnie's knee brace had been off for a week and she was told to put it back on if anything felt off.
But she felt good.
Better than she had in a long time.
Ronnie got up before anyone else in the apartment and pulled on a sports bra and a pair of tight exercise shorts. She left Eddie a note on her pillow before grabbing her phone and keys and leaving the apartment.
At nine am she had been running for three and a half hours and she felt good. Her knee didn't ache and she was feeling ready for her recertification that day. Buck, Eddie and Bobby had been helping her to practice and revise. Not only had she been working on her physical health but also her mental health too, she started seeing a therapist weekly and talking about everything she went through.
When she got back from her sessions she wouldn't discuss anything but Eddie didn't care as long as she was getting help.
After four hours of running it was thirty minutes past nine in the morning and she arrived at her apartment, sweaty and hot but feeling good physically. As she opened the door she pulled her headphones out of her ears and hugged her boyfriend who laughed. "As much as I love you, you're sweaty. Go grab a shower, mi ojo de peluche." Ronnie mocked offense as she threw a well aimed punch to his shoulder, playfully at that.
Before Eddie could wreak his payback she was in the shower as he banged on the door. "I am naked in the shower! Can you leave me alone?" She laughed as the knocking continued.
"Nah, I rather think I should join you." At that he walked through the door, pulled his top and shorts off and joined her.
A lot of splashing and squealing later, the two had finished their water fight and looked at the soaking wet bathroom. As soon as Eddie stepped on the floor, he slipped and landed on the bottom, causing Ronnie to double up with laughter. "That's your fault! You decided to flood the place!" She stepped down and one second she was standing and the next her boyfriend pulled her down with him, kissing and tickling her.
When they looked up, luckily they had a towel over their areas, they were met with three children laughing at the mess they had caused. "You always say we can't have splash fights!" Jade pouted causing the adults to laugh as they scrambled up off the floor and to their bedroom to change.
Eddie drove Ronnie to her test and watched her from the sidelines with Bobby, Athena, Maddie and Buck with him, all cheering her on. She finished the recertification test in seven minutes and forty three seconds, almost three minutes to spare. Athena and Bobby insisted on throwing another celebration barbecue, already having a cake made.
Maddie had helped pick her outfit and had done her hair and makeup for her, where she was tired from the day she had had.
