His heart hammered in his chest as he bolted upright, sweat poured down his features as his eyes watered, his phone lit up with nine missed calls from Evan and Maddie, immediately, he thought the worst. Without hesitation he threw on clothes, grabbed his keys and phone and ran to his car, speeding to the hospital.

She couldn't be dead, she just couldn't be, he wouldn't survive.

His legs pumped through the pain radiating through his body, if she died so did he, he couldn't live without her and he wouldn't.

Within minutes he arrived at her room, panting and shaking slightly, rubbing his red eyes, Evan stepped out when he noticed him, slightly confused. "Eddie? I thought you went to have a nap? It's not even been three hours. What's happened?" The blonde rested a small and comforting hand on the latino, Eddie shook his head and let the barrier fall, his emotions falling apart in front of his best friend.

"S-she died, in my dream, I finally fell asleep, and- and she died. I had to make sure she was okay." Eddie ran a tired hand over his face, sighing as Evan hugged him hard, he led the latino into her room, where sure enough she hadn't been alone. Maddie and Evan had been sat by her side the whole time.

"She's alive, they say it should be a few hours if that before she wakes up. Doctors came in and told us about an hour ago, that's why I rang you." Maddie explained as Eddie sat down heavily on the couch, Maddie throwing a blanket on him. "Sleep there, we'll wake you up straight away if anything happens. I promise." She smiled and squeezed his hand slightly, a small smile resting on her face as Buck stepped outside to call Bobby.

Eddie tossed and turned for hours on the couch, dozing off for an hour or so but waking up from a nightmare hourly, like clockwork. When he started to stir, he could hear someone laughing, and could sense a bright smile lighting up the room, groggily he opened his eyes and looked at her bed. Where she slowly opened her eyes, Bobby squeezed her hand and kissed his daughters forehead as he beckoned the latino over.

"Hey sleeping beauty, I've missed that smile of yours." Eddie joked as he leant down and kissed her on the lips, a small smile twingeing at the end of her mouth. He squeezed her hand as he stifled a yawn with his hand, after getting some sleep he now seemed to want to sleep forever, the month and a half of exhaustion and insomnia catching up to him.

Hours later and Maddie, Buck and Bobby had gone home, leaving Eddie, who once again refused to leave, so they settled with him curling up beside her on the bed. She snuggled into his side, resting her head on his chest, as she looked up and kissed his cheek. "I'm sorry." A singular tear rolled down her cheek as he wiped it away, playing with her hair.

"It's okay, it's not your fault." Eddie whispered pulling her in closer, as she fell asleep against his chest, their chests rising together in sync as she matched her heartrate with his.

She was brought back to him, and that made him happy, they had another chance at love.
