It was the day of Buck's physical assessment on wether he could go back to work and he was nervously awaiting the test. Ronnie hoped that he would pass and go back to work, but she slightly felt feelings of resentment and jealousy of him and the situation, she had at least another month and a half if not two of recovery, her ribs were getting better, her wrist healed, her incision sights healthy and healing, her leg fixed and recovering well, with the cast coming off in three weeks and the knee brace coming off in a month and a half.

Ronnie wished constantly that the time would speed past, but it never did. Eddie and Ronnie were going to go and watch him, to be there for support, despite Buck's desputes but they overpowered him. Carla promised to look after the three kids on the saturday morning whilst they went to support their friend.

The flames leapt up and whooshed as they watched Buck enter the simulator and heard him over the radio. "Martinez." He called as the sound of air hissing filled the intercom. "I got them." He hollered as he left the room. "I got her, I'm heading down." His breathing was heavy, but he was okay, as he stood opposite the other members of the terrible trio they cheered.

He set the new record and was reinstated, Ronnie cheered and hugged him, jumping slightly, glad for her big brother. "Woo!" She laughed holding onto him as he whirled her round.

A few hours later and the Diaz-Nash clan knocked on the Nash-Grant residence, holding a cake that Ronnie had made single-handedly.

Athena brought the young woman into a tight embrace before her father did the same. "Hey dad." She smiled as he ruffled Jade's hair causing her to giggle and run away. "Jade! Come back here." She called, her father smirking.

Eddie and Ronnie walked over to the table, setting the cake down and talking to their other colleagues. Denny, Christopher, Matthew, Harry and Jade going into the garden to play, May promising to keep an eye on them. "How's the knee, Ron?" Hen asked, embracing the other female smiling slightly.

Ronnie took a deep breath and sighed plastering a fake smile on her face. "It's fine, much better." Eddie raised his eyebrows at her reply, knowing it to be a lie, no truth in her response. Every night she was still up at all hours from the throbbing pain in her knee, all of her other injuries had healed or stopped giving her as much pain, except for her knee. He placed a hand on the small of her black, sensing that she was already in a lot of pain from the few minutes of standing on her knee.

A few moments later and Buck and Maddie had arrived, laughing at the message on the cake Ronnie had piped lovingly. 'For once you beat me, don't get used to it.' He hugged his younger sister as she leant into his embrace slightly, relieving the pressure on her knee slightly.

An hour or so into the celebration, Bobby had taken Buck off to the side to talk, leaving Maddie, Eddie and Ronnie stood talking, the kids were playing further down the garden with Ronnie's watchful eye on them. Leaning heavily on her crutches she made her way over to Buck and Bobby as she noticed him grow paler, clutch his chest and cough a bit. "Buck?" She asked as she stood beside him, putting two fingers to his wrist. "Rapid pulse. Buddy, take a deep breath for me, yeah?" He nodded and she smiled, but that soon faded when he coughed up blood, splattering it onto her dress before collapsing.
