When she eventually woke up it was seven in the morning, she jumped into the shower, wiped the blood off her wrists, tied back her hair in a messy bun, pulled on a long sleeve t-shirt and leggings, with her grey sneakers, grabbed her bag, phone and a bottle of water and headed out of the hotel towards the station, making it there in fifteen minutes.

As she arrived, she saw her father's car and could hear him talking to his team, her new team. When she entered, everyone looked at her, including a tall, tanned and handsome man who she instantly found herself lost in the eyes of. "Um, hi everyone." She smiled slightly, as she walked in, within half an hour she was changed into her uniform and sat playing video games with Buck. The two young men, Eddie and Buck were both drooling over her the second she stepped in the station, and Ronnie could see herself liking one of them.

Now they were playing games against each other, the winner choosing the losers defeat prize. "Evan Buckley stop fucking cheating!" She yelled causing Eddie to laugh and Buck to smirk, then she heard her father call over to them.

"Veronica Elizabeth Katelyn Nash stop swearing!" He returned, causing Ronnie to roll her eyes and the boys to start laughing at her full name, Bobby, Hen and Chimney were sat in the kitchen talking, finding out how Bobby was feeling about it all. "I mean, I'm glad she came back but she blew up at me yesterday when I asked her if she was okay after- I, never mind." He started but stopped before he revealed something he knew she wouldn't appreciate.

Chimney and Hen had known Bobby longer than anyone at the station and they knew when he was struggling and although he seemed okay, they both knew how quickly he could slip. The kids videogame tournament was interrupted by the ringtone of the youngest's phone. "Pause it, its my kids." Before she stood up and walked off down the stairs. "Hey kiddo's, you having fun at your uncle's house?" They heard her ask and the laughter of young kids echoed through the speaker.

Eddie and Buck turned to face each other, mouthing 'kids?', causing them both to laugh. "Cap's a granddad!" They both yelled simultaneously laughing, causing Bobby to glare at them, but it wasn't long until Chimney and Hen started in on the giggles too.

After a few minutes they could tell the conversation changed, they heard her sound more worried and stressed. She had turned the phone off speaker and held it to her ear, walking into the locker room and shutting the door. "Yeah, he keeps calling me even though he knows that violates his restraining order. He hasn't come near the kids has he?" She asked concerned but relieved when the answer was no, they stayed on for a few more minutes before the bell rang and they had to go. "Bye guys I love you!" She ended the call and jumped into the engine.

Everyone looked at her. "What?" She asked confused, tying her hair into a topknot at the nape of her neck, keeping it out of the way. Eddie smirked at her, which she noticed and laughed at his staring. "I know I'm beautiful Diaz, but please, keep your eyes up here or to yourself." She remarked causing Eddie to blush and Buck to laugh. "I don't know what you're laughing at Buckley, I'm way out of you league, atleast he has a shot." Chimney and Hen were finding this interaction hilarious as both of the boys looked like wounded puppies.

As they arrived on scene, they were met with a kid lying on the floor, with his leg trapped in his bike. Captain Nash gestured for Ronnie to take control as the leading paramedic for the call, to see what she could do. "Okay, I need a backboard and a c-collar, and we need to cut the bike off him with the saw please." She instructed as Buck got the backboard and collar as Eddie got the saw and started to cut around the bike as Ronnie held her turnout over the kid's face. "You're fine, we're just getting your leg free to see how we can help, my names Ronnie, what's yours?" She asked in an attempt to distract the ten year olds mind.

"Jayden" He whispered causing her to smile as she thought of her kids at home.

"That's my little girls name, y'know, and she is a fighter so I am sure that you are too." She reassured him.
