Sam and Lorna guided the other two men deep into the construction site underneath the building. Him with his equipment, her with her powers.

Bucky informed Sharon of their whereabouts, and the group of four divided, with John and Bucky taking one way and Lorna following Sam the other path.

The sound of shots directed the duo to Karli, who stood over a wounded Sharon and a dead body. Sam still tried to reason with the leader of the Flag Smashers, but she only wanted to fight.

"Lorna, let me deal with her."

The green-haired beauty pursed her lips but obeyed.

The ginger girl clearly had the upper hand on the new Captain America, who refused to strike back. Karli threw punch after punch at him. The shield protected him from the blows, but the impact sent him on his knees and the shield out of his hands.

Lorna felt helpless. She had the powers and the ability to help Sam but knew he wouldn't like that. She wasn't used to being on the sidelines doing nothing. It was frustrating.

Karli grabbed her gun and pointed at the man who became Lorna's older brother figure. She took the liberty to disable the weapon with her powers but wasn't attentive enough to stop Sharon from shooting the young girl instead.

Karli fell into Sam's arms, who was devastated for failing to save the girl. Lorna was used to it - to death - and her heart wasn't the same size as Sam's to feel sad about her death, but she knew it'd be difficult for him, and her heart was big enough to sympathize with his pain.

He carried Karli's body out of the building, leaving Lorna to help Sharon.

"Let's go, Power Broker," the green-eyed woman said.

"So you know," the blonde breathed out, groaning when Lorna put her arm around her shoulder.

"Of course. I did my research. Do you think I would go along with anything Sam and Bucky did without questioning?"

"You dug me up to know my history with Bucky."

"That too," Lorna admitted unbotherly. "But I also wanted to prove a point."

"Which was?"

"It bugged me how they assumed the Power Broker was a man."

Sharon gave a weak smirk.

"I knew I liked you. What now? Will you hand me over to the government?"

"You did what you had to do to survive. And I can't say I wasn't glad you protected Sam. Not that Karli's gun would've worked with me here, but whatever. You do your things, and I'll keep an eye on you."

After letting Sharon rest on a corner to get her treated by a paramedic, Lorna found Bucky, who circled her waist possessively with his flesh arm while watching Sam getting bombarded by the press, surrounded by the police, the paramedics, and curious civilians.

"Are you still going forward with resetting the borders?" Sam asked.

"Our peacekeeping troops will begin relocating people soon. The terrorists only set us back a bit," Prime Minister Lacont informed.

"You have to stop calling them terrorists."

"What else would we call them?" A Government Official asked.

" Your peacekeeping troops carrying weapons are forcing millions of people into settlements around the world, right? What do you think those people are gonna call you? These labels, 'terrorist,' 'refugee,' thug,' they're often used to get around the question, why?"
