𝙧𝙪𝙡𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙖 𝙝𝙪𝙜

The car stops outside your apartment complex as the dread of coming back to the empty, quiet and lonely apartment creeps in. You look over at Bakugo who was unusually quiet the entire drive.

"do you want to go in for a bit?" Bakugo just simply sighs weirding you out slightly at how different he was acting — was it because of what I said earlier ?

Once you enter the quiet apartment, you felt the usual wave of loneliness hit you as you try to brush it off. Bakugo closes the door behind him following you shortly to the kitchen where you poured a glass of water and hand it to him.

"y/n" Bakugo calls out your name as you hum in response. He places the cup back down on the side as he hesitates to ask, "earlier.. how are you so sure? We're you.." his voice trails off and he couldn't even bare to look at you, thinking how stupid he must sound

A soft chuckle escapes your lips, "I was" his eyes immediately shot up looking at you as you chew your bottom lip making your way to sit on the couch as Bakugo follows.

It was silent. The ticking of the clock seemingly echoing throughout the room.

"Can I ask what happened?" Bakugo finally breaks the silence, "everything about your past.. I want to know"

"After I graduated and started a stable job, I got engaged to Inasa but we delayed the wedding when I found out I was pregnant" you take a deep sigh and pause, "I was five months pregnant when I found out Inasa was cheating and got another girl pregnant, I was so angry and stressed" you chew your bottom lip, "all I remember was blood then I woke up in the hospital with a scar on my belly but no baby in my arms.." you wipe the the silent tears as you let out a bitter sweet chuckle, "I thought all of my dreams were coming true but turns out it was a nightmare dressed like a day dream"

Bakugo sighs seeing you try so hard to hide your tears but it was obvious to him. He silently pulls you into a hug.

"I'm sorry"

Your body freezes as his muscular arms wraps around you, his caramel scent fills your nose as the warmth surrounds you "Katsuki what are you-" your hands start to move to push him away but he held on tighter.

"Remember when we were kids, how you had that stupid rule, if one of us was sad we can hug each other for however long? So just accept the stupid hug while I'm being nice" a breathy laugh escapes your lips remembering that exact moment. Your hands move to wrap around him accepting the hug as you melt into his warm embrace letting the silent tears slowly fall.

Even without saying anything he knew straight away.

After all these years he can read me like an open book.

[ 5 years old ]

"Oh! Sparky what's wrong?" You run up to Bakugo who picked himself up off the ground as older kids walk away from him

"Go away!" He yells but it was clear in his eyes he was trying not to cry, you sigh immediately hugging him, "what are you doing you!? let go!" his attempt was futile because every time he tried to push you away, you'd only hug him tighter

"Shut up you big baby! I know you're not okay so I'll hug you until you are! no matter how long!" You boldly state as his tears overflow into your shoulder.

"I'll show them! I'm gonna be the number one hero one day!" He mutters in between sniffles.

You ended up hugging him for 30 minutes until he calmed down from the sobbing. After that day you created that rule for the two of you.

Although Bakugo was always bold and brave, he was still a big cry baby as a kid

Once you calm down, you pull away slightly creating distance from Bakugo's embrace.

'Tsk' he gently wiped your tears away, "that guy is fucking stupid, I swear I'll kill him" He growls clenching his fists.

"Of course you will" you chuckle. He leaned in closer to move the wet stray hairs glued on your cheeks from crying.

Your eyes widen feeling a sense of nostalgia from Bakugo, the scenario itself much like how he comforted you when you cried about your father's passing.

"K-Katsuki" you finally muster up the word to say his name. Unknowingly to you, hearing you say his name made Bakugo's heart beat a mile a minute.

Although they reunited today and he's already heard teasing from Mina about how you were his childhood crush, she wasn't wrong. It was true that he had a childhood crush on you but nothing came about it.

It was clear the years passed by yet his feelings for you remained the same, today confirmed it. He hates the fact he wasn't there to help you, he can't bare to walk away, he can't lose you again.

He couldn't control himself and pulls you back in a tight hug, nuzzling his head in the crook of your neck as he let out a deep breath.

"It's okay y/n, I'm here now"
