𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙨

"The last patient was rushed here when she fainted from high blood pressure" the nurse explains handing you a clipboard of information as you both walk to the room. While briefly scanning, your heart stops seeing the name, 'Sora Yoarashi'

Entering the room, you're met with the familiar face of your supposed mother in law lying on the bed complaining to her husband.

"y/n!" She yells as you give a kind smile, Inasa's parents were always so welcoming and warm from the beginning, "honey we miss you!" she calls out as you make your way to her bedside.

"I miss you too, I'm just going to take your blood pressure since it seems you're doing better then when you first came and after I'll get the discharge papers" keeping the conversation short in an attempt to stop from any bittersweet talks.

"Okay that should be everything" you explain scribbling the last few notes on the form, "just relax mother and remember to take your medication" reminding her since she always tends to forget

"It's all that Hanabi's fault! I can't stand her! she's the reason why my blood pressure got so high this morning!" She complains as you grip tightly on the pen in your hand hearing her name.

You let out a small bittersweet chuckle, "mother calm down, we just got your blood pressure back to normal" half kidding but it seemed as if your blood pressure was the one on a rise.

"everything is her fault! she's horrible, if only she wasn't pregnant I would've kicked her to the streets where she belongs! She was asking for my wedding band but I won't give it to her, ever! you should be the one marrying my Inasa, not her! she's the reason I lost my first grandchild and you!"

there it was.

the bitter reminder of your loss.

"It'll be okay mother" attempting to reassure her

"Speaking of which, close your eyes" you follow her instructions hearing her rummage through her purse. Then grabbing your hand, placing a small object on your finger. It didn't take a genius to know it was a ring. Slowly opening your eyes, you see a golden wedding band.

"Mother, I can't" shaking your head attempting to give it back to her but she refuses.

"Please y/n, accept this, I'll never give it to her, whatever happens, you're still the daughter for me" she stubbornly says as you give in and nod.

"Thank you mother" giving her a quick hug.

While standing at the front desk to hand in the discharge form, you stare at your hand with the wedding band as the memories of the past plays in your mind.

It was a warm Sunday morning when you wake up feeling Inasa rub your growing stomach, softly talking to your future baby.

"I can't wait to meet you little one, we already love you soo much!" he presses a gently kiss on your belly while the corners of your lips curl up into a smile seeing this sweet moment unfold.

"Inasa" He looks at you wide eyed like deer in headlights

"Sorry honey, did I wake you up?" He asks

"It's okay" you reply as Inasa smiles before giving you a morning peck on the lips just like he always does. He pulls away and cups your face with his big hands.

"I love you so much"  he stares deeply into your eyes, it was as if he was nervous while caressing the outside of your cheek, "I want you to know that"

"I know that my love, we love you too" giggling at his reaction to which he seems to breathe out a sigh of relief.

He pulls you into his warm embrace, "I just love you both so much"

"Y/n?" The familiar voice snaps you out of your daydream as your gaze meets the man of your nightmares.

"I-Inasa" you whisper under your breath as a smile spreads across his face pulling you into those arms that held you the past six years.

"I missed you" he whispers in your ear while you stand frozen. You bite your bottom lip to hold back the tears as the memories of the past comes rushing back more rapidly than before. He pulls away and looks back at you with that same old smile you fell in love with but those eyes were still filled with the same guilt from back then.

You gulp the lump building in your throat, "you're here to pick up your mother right? That reminds me" hurriedly you remove the ring and place it in his hands, "tell her I really can't accept this, I have to go" attempting to walk away but he grabs your arm halting you in your step.

"y/n please can we talk?"

Just hearing his voice pleads brings a sense of bittersweetness as it tugs on your heartstrings.

"what more is there to talk about?" Shaking his grip off your arm and walking away to the staff room to change out of your work clothes. You took this opportunity to call Camie.

"HI BESTIEE" she happily greets through the phone but your prolonged silence alerts her, "y/n what's wrong?"

You exhale a deep breath to calm yourself before you start crying, "are you done with work? Let's go out for drinks"

"I'm not finished yet, I'm on the way to the police station to file a report for the thief I captured. But I'm meeting Denki and the guys later, I'll send them to come by and pick you up"

"Okay" after around ten minutes of hoping Inasa would've left, you make your way to the exit only to find him still waiting by the front desk.

"Y/n please" he asks again as you ignore him and walk past. The exit was in view as you approach the double doors, "Y/N I STILL LOVE YOU!" Inasa shouts as his voice echoed through the room. You couldn't help but freeze as your heart falls into the pit of your stomach.

Inasa took this opportunity to run towards you and hold each of your hand in his, "I know you still love me so please, give me another chance, I promise I'll never do anything to hurt you again" he pleads planting a soft kiss on your hands.

Every bit of this situation you hated, you hated him for lying, cheating and being the reason you lost your baby yet hearing him, seeing him, feeling his lips on your hands, all these little movements make your heart ache. You'd be lying if you didn't say you missed him and missed how it was, it was six years spent together and the plans of forever.

"I don't love you anymore and even if I did, I don't want to go through all that again" slipping his hand away from yours, "I spent nights mourning, the days wondering what I lacked for you to do this until I realised I did nothing wrong, it was all you and the choices you made. You hurt me. The type of hurt that won't go away easily, I can't just forget all that"

"y/n please, we can be happy again, I promise. I'll make it all up to you" he takes a step close as you take a step back, "y/n please just give me a another chance"

"Hey baby, sorry I'm late"
