"Mommy!" she could hear Connor calling out to her but she couldn't see him. She was in the villa, but everything felt different, everything felt off.
"Mommy!" this time Liam called out to her from another direction.
"Boys, where are you?" she called out to them but got no response.
"Caity!" Cormac's deep voice bounced off the walls. They were everywhere and nowhere, surrounding her.
"Come to me!" she yelled back before she could feel them being pulled further away from her.
"No!" she screamed, her body jolting upwards in bed as she was yanked out of her nightmare, her hand went straight to her stomach.
"Fuck" she groaned pulling herself up in bed "I'm sorry baby. Mommy's okay, I promise" she muttered, her thumb stroking her bump. Grace grabbed the paper, pen and a book to lean on off her bedside table, she began writing.
Dear Liam and Connor, I dreamt about you both tonight. I miss you both so much, but I have your baby sister to keep me company. You'd both love her. She kicks inside my belly and I feel her rolling around in the middle of the night. She's going to love her big brothers, I can feel it.
I miss you both so much. I dream about you all the time. Me, Liam, Connor, baby sister and your daddy. I promise you, I'm going to find my way back to you all. I'll run if I have too. I'm going to find you and we'll be a family again.
I won't ever stop looking.
My love,
Always,
Mommy.
Grace let out a deep sigh, trying to keep her tears from spilling over, she felt her baby kick again.
"It's okay baby. Mommy's okay" she assured the bump, her hand going to it, her thumb stoking over the foot that had pressed against her skin from inside. She picked her phone up again and began writing her next letter.
Dear Cormac, you're going to hate me for everything I've done, maybe you'll hate me more than I already hate myself. I want you to know that you got your wish. I don't know what It'll be they're keeping that a secret from me. But, I think that it's a girl. That'll make you happy, a little princess to spoil.
I'm truly sorry Cor. I think that in the months I spent with you that along the way I fell in love with you, with how you make me feel. For the first time, in a long time, I felt happy and loved. I love our boys and our baby. I love you.
I'm sorry that I lied. I'm sorry that I couldn't be who you wanted me to be.
I will love you,
forever,
Your Caity.
Grace let out a shaky breath, her hand returning to her stomach.
"I'm sorry baby. I'm sorry I ruined everything" she felt the familiar base of a foot press against her hand "I love you. Don't ever doubt how much I love you, or your brothers or your daddy. I'm going to find you all again. I'm not going to give up so you can't either. You hear me?" the baby kicked again "Okay then. We'll stay strong, because that's what people in this family do, we fight until our last breaths" she let out another sigh before she wiped away a tear that had fallen from her eye "I'm going to fight" she promised.
