Clara snuck along the hall and into Elliot's room. She covered his mouth with her hand as he jumped awake at the sudden warmth covering his mouth.
"Shh" she ordered quietly before she removed her hand.
"What is it? What's going on?" He whispered.
"I have to leave for a while, I can't tell you where I'm going but I'll call when I can" she rushed through answering his questions when he grabbed her arm.
"What's going on Clara?" A deep frown stretched across her lips.
"I can't tell you, El. I'm sorry. But what I have to do is important and it's for Grace. Trust me" he nodded gently.
"Are you sure I can't help?" She shook her head.
"I'm sorry. I promise I'll call when I can" she squeezed his arm gently.
"Be careful, please. I don't want to lose you" she smiled down at him before she leant down and placed a small kiss to his lips.
"I'll see you soon" she smiled at him one last time before he watched her sneak back out the door she entered through.
Clara successfully snuck out of the bunker, she had a friend drop a car two blocks away. The drive was long but it allowed her to put together a plan of action. Everything had to be perfect, she had to make sure that Grace's boys were protected, she had to make sure that she did everything that Grace would want her to do. That included asking one of their oldest friends to become a father. She got a ride on a private jet back to the states and from there she drove straight to the hotel. Georgette answered the door and Clara could see behind her that the boys were fast asleep.
"Hi Georgette. You don't know me but I'm a friend of Grace's. I'm going to help you and the boys hide" the older woman stepped aside, letting her enter the room. Georgette closed the door before they both sat at the little table in the corner of the room.
"Grace said that one of her friends was going to help me hide them. I'm glad that she kept her word"
"When did she tell you?"
"Right when Cormac started getting insistent. She knew her time was running out one way or another" Clara nodded "He did it didn't he? He got another kid?" she nodded again.
"They loved each other you know? Cormac had done bad things but she was changing him and she didn't even realise it. If they had more time maybe he would've ran away with her and the boys" the older woman shrugged "Well, what's the plan?"
"I have a friend, Sam. He'll become their father and you their grandmother. He has a house already set up ready for you all, I'm just waiting for him to tell me where we need to go" the older woman nodded again before her eyes drifted over to the sleeping boys.
"They love her, so much. They ask about her every day but I don't know what to tell them"
"I wish I could say that she's safe but, they found the pregnancy test and took her away" Georgette nodded gently.
"Mommy? Is that you?" Liam's little voice broke through their conversation.
"No sweetie, it's me" Georgette moved to his side, pulling him into her arms when his eyes landed on Clara.
"Do you know my mommy?"
"I do. She's my friend and she sent me here to take you someplace safe" Clara smiled across the room at the little boy.
"Where is she?" Clara's eyes drifted to Georgette's before they moved back to the boy.
"She's making sure you're safe"
"Will she come and get us?" she smiled widely.
"Yes, she will. I know she will. And she told me to promise you that when she does find you, you'll have burgers and ice cream every day" a wide smile broke out across his lips when her phone started ringing. She excused herself outside where she answered the phone.
"Hey, you got a location for me?"
"Yeah. Reston Virginia. 23320. I'll be waiting" he said quickly before the phone went dead. Clara dropped the phone on the ground on stomped on it, smashing it completely. Her eyes moved to the window of their room finding Georgette holding Liam and a now awake Connor close to her chest.
"I'll keep them safe Grace. I promise" she whispered into the air.Clara drove all the way to Virginia, making sure to stop on the way at a forger to get the boys and Georgette passports with their new identities. When they got to the house Same was waiting for them on the front lawn.
"Clara, it's good to see you again" Sam smiled, hugging her "Under the current circumstances that is"
"We appreciate everything that you're doing for us"
"You mean everything I'm doing for Grace" he frowned slightly.
"This is what's right and you know it Sam. They're kids. I didn't sign up for exploiting kids"
"You didn't sign up for sleeping with terrorists either"
"And you didn't sign up to become a father but here we are" she shrugged "Come on, I'll introduce you to your sons" Sam followed her over to the car where the boys were waiting with Georgette.
"This is Liam and Connor" Sam smiled down at them.
"Hi boys. Do you want to see your new bedroom?" Liam nodded slowly.
"I want my mommy" Connor bit, his arms folding over his chest.
"Your mommy sent us to protect you both. Remember, burgers and ice cream" the little boy smiled widely up at her. Clara and Sam watched the boys and Georgette go up the path and disappear into the house.
"Do you remember how we met?"
"You brought us some fire power" he nodded.
"When I first saw Grace I thought she was soft, but I realized that she was much more than a meek woman"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means trouble knows trouble" he started walking up towards the house when her voice stopped him.
"She got hurt, when she was a kid. She had no one to look out for her, she was always alone, always running. She was hurt more times than any one person should take, then her government threw her to the wolves and hoped for the best. She did what she could and what she thought was right"
"She fell in love with a terrorist" he started walking up to the house when her voice stopped him again.
"She's pregnant. They took her in the middle of the night, they made her vanish. She fell in love with the first person that showed her kindness. I don't see anything wrong with that" she went back to her car and drove off out of sight before Sam went inside the house, the door shutting behind him before he flicked the lock into place.
