"I'll be fine." She chuckled and unlocked the door. "See, I'm standing fine now."

"Baby, I can see your legs shaking still." I nodded down at her trembling knees and she laughed.

"I'll be fine. I'm meeting dad for lunch, you need to go to work, I need to shower. Again."

"You asked-"

"Sonny." She laid her head on my bicep and I chuckled, lifting it up and hugging her as I pulled the door open. "God you smell good."

"I smell of you." I whispered in her ear and she lifted, pushing me again. The look on her face right now is the best look I have ever seen on any girl, ever. Flushed pink, plump lips in a tired and satisfied smile. A smile I could guarantee I would be giving her again.

"Shh." Her eyes flicked down to my lips and back to my eyes. "I'll be at sound check."

"I finish at 9 tonight. How about we-" I looped an arm around her waist, smiling at the gasp she let out before wrapping her arms around my neck. "go out for something to eat and get wasted. I think you need a break after this morning."

"I definitely do." She kept her voice quiet. "So, food tonight?"

"Yeah, I'll find us somewhere nice whilst your dad's on."

"Like a date?"

"Yes Callie. Like a date." I nodded. "I told you. Didn't I? Do you think I was just saying that in the moment?"

"Kind of."

"Well, I wasn't. I mean it. You're mine. Stick whatever label you want on it. That's all that matters to me."

"You've known me a week."

"You were mine after less than 4 hours Callie. Didn't you wonder why none of the guys have spoken to you?"

"Well yeah, but I just thought they were terrified of my dad." I laughed, kissing her innocent cheeks.

"No baby, no one's scared of your dad. They're scared of me though. I told them all to keep away." She scowled. "I'm gonna run." Another kiss. Never enough. I'd never have enough. "I'll see you in a few hours. Have fun with your dad."

"Oh, I'm sure it'll be loads of fun after this morning." I chuckled at her stepping away and heading down the corridor.

This morning had been torn from a dreamscape. I have 6 weeks to convince her that this is more along the lines of the life that she wants. Anything that means she's not stuck in a cubicle willing her life away. I can show her a life with me. The possibility of something more. If I could do that, we'd be okay. It is stupid that I am trying to convince this girl, that a week ago I didn't know, that a future with me would be good for her.

I have never come close to developing feelings for a girl. Not really. I've had a super strong want, a lust for girls. But I never wanted them near me constantly. I never told them they were mine. I never wanted them to be just for me and I certainly never told them I was only for them. But Olive made me want to do anything to keep her to myself. I didn't want anyone else to touch her. Like some primal instincts kicked in.

"Shit. Sorry man." My shoulder shuddered and I looked up.

"No worries. I wasn't paying attention." Blake. Nothing between them. They're friends. She sent him away 2 days ago.

"Emerson right?"

"Yeah." I nodded. "Light tech."

"Thought I recognised you. You're with Vanessa right? Sweet girl."

"No, I'm actually not. We just had a fling. She ended it yesterday."

"Oh dude. I'm sorry. Sucks being out here without anyone." Like you'd know. I fought back rolling my eyes. "Did I see you come from Callie's room?"

"Yeah." I nodded, shoving my hands into my pockets. "She's getting ready for lunch with her dad."

"I know, I've come to get her."

"She said she was going to shower; I'd give her a few minutes. I'm gonna go. Don't wanna be late."

"Alright man. See you later. Have a good day."

"You too." I shot a smile at him and turned, walking to the stadium, and trying to sus him out.

There was something with Blake that never seemed quite right. I don't know what it was and I don't want to seem jealous of her best friend but there's something about him. Like he's got a few skeletons in his closet and somehow Callie is his key. I didn't like it.

I scaled the rig with Aiden manually tightening the bolts after he'd secured them, just to make sure they were extra secure.

"You're quiet today."

"Just thinking."

"About what?" Metal whirred and Aiden moved his harness around before climbing to get the next bolt.

"Do you get a weird vibe from Blake? Especially how he is with Huxley's girl?"

"Callie?"

"Yeah."

"I don't know man. They seem super friendly. He kisses her cheek a lot. Maybe they're together but don't want it to be out there 100%."

"No, I don't think that's it." I scowled, straining the metal. "I don't know. I spoke to him earlier. I just get a weird vibe from him."

"I think they're just together dude."

"I'm telling you that's not it." He looked up and I sighed. "They're not a thing. He went to her room yesterday night and he tried but she turned him down. I've been with her all morning."

"You?"

"Yes."

"With Callie Huxley?"

"Yes." He laughed.

"You've gone mad."

"I have not. I'm taking her out tonight after I finish here." He shook his head, still not believing me. "I swear."

"You've never even spoken to her Emerson."

"Pinned her against the wall her first night here when she came for a cig. Fucked her in a supply closet 10 minutes later. Sat in a field with her when we camped and you two had passed out, outside of her hotel door the other night, she came out after me last night and I've been with her since."

"Bullshit. Have you seen her? You're alright looking Emerson, I'm not going to lie dude but she's like off the scale."

"I know."

"Prove it. When she comes in tonight, prove you're seeing her."

"How? I'm not gonna fucking shag her on stage am I?"

"Talk to her. If she's friendly I'll believe you."

"She's not a friendly person."

"Exactly."

"You're the bane of my existence Aiden."
