White-yellow sunlight poured through the thin curtains, engulfing the room in such a sense of summer warmth I could have fallen back to sleep right there. The sun and Sonny pressed into my back was giving me the biggest sense of belonging I'd ever felt. I've never honestly believed I was meant to be in a certain place at a certain time. But I was supposed to be here, right now, like this.
His lips gently pressed into my shoulder and I breathed out a smile. 2 movies, room service snacks, cuddles, and peace. Last night had been miles better than I'd been anticipating. He hadn't fumbled. For even a second. Not whilst I was sat on him, not with my tongue in his mouth. Not for the slightest slither of a second did he even think about taking it further and that was making it even sweeter for me. Me living and following my decision to not sleep with anyone now had been a hell of easier thanks to him last night. It didn't mean I wasn't living out here. This is not something I'd do at home, that's for sure. There's too many risks with it. But I wasn't going to let that stop how I was feeling, wrapped in his arms right now.
"You feel so good right now." Hot breath fanned over half of my face, making me smile a little bigger. Sonny buried his arm under my neck pulling me further into him. "So So good." His free hand ran down my silk pyjamas before gripping the outside edge of my thigh, kissing my skin again and pulling me over to face him. "Morning beautiful."
"Hi." I reached up, pushing his hair out of his face, tracing fingers over his 5 o'clock shadow. "Much work to do today?"
"Some, but not until after lunch. Still have a few hours." I nodded. "Hungry? Want to get breakfast?" I should probably talk to my dad before we're seen out together. Especially after that scene yesterday. I have no doubt it will have gotten back to dad this morning and he'll be wanting to know what happened. I need to tell him I am hanging out with Emerson before it gets dropped on him. Just as a courtesy thing.
"I don't want to get up yet." He smiled. Something I don't think I've seen Sonny do properly before. Not that wasn't fake or sarcastic or flirty. Not like this. It wasn't huge. Like someone had told him he could smile but he had to limit them and how much he did. I wanted to see a proper smile on him. I can imagine it is perfect. "Can we stay here all day?"
"I wish we could angel but I've got to make sure the lights are up for sound check at 5." I pouted, making him smile a little bigger.
"Please?" Bigger still. "Sonny," I pushed my hand into his hair softly. "I had fun with you last night. Bring me back tonight?"
"Back here?" I nodded. "We can do this every night until you go if you want to Pops. Answer me something first?"
"Okay."
"You said last night you're spending summer doing what you want?"
"Mhm."
"Is that to help you decide on the work thing?"
"Everyone's worried I follow other people's rules too much. That I've forgotten how to be me behind everyone's expectations."
"Mhm." He played with my hair gently, slowly. Hazel eyes staring into mine until I was too mesmerized to know north from south. "You're still not sure?"
"It's not an easy decision. I think I know what I want but I have to be sure before I act on it. Because the consequences could be huge. Like loose family and friends and my whole life."
"Over a job?" I nodded. "Didn't realize it's that serious."
"Life of a rockstars daughter isn't all it's cracked up to be." 10 minutes. I got 10 minutes of serenity before 3 knocks and a shake of the door handle. "WHAT BLAKE?"
"I'm not shouting through the door sunshine." I rolled my eyes, making Sonny smile as I pulled myself out of his arms, rounded the corner to the door, pulling it open an inch.
"What?"
"How you feeling? Any better?"
"A little."
"Why do you keep locking doors?"
"So random stalkers don't saunter in at 3am and gawk at me. What's up Freckles?"
"Pops!" I laid my forehead on the edge of the door before looking back to Blake.
"Did you tell him?"
"You said you weren't well-" Dad pushed the door slightly, dropping his hand straight to my forehead. Thank the sweet lord the bed was around the corner in here, please don't make a sound Sonny. Please don't make this harder than it needs to be.
"What's wrong? Temperature? Migraine? Do you need your inhaler?"
"Dad." I glared at Blake who smirked, saluted, and walked off. Dead. He's dead.
"Did you take something Pops? Who gave you it?"
"Dad." I sighed again. "I've got company." He stopped, standing up and pointing at the bedroom behind me. "Yes. Not like that. But there is a guy in here right now. I'm fine. I just wanted to get out of there last night and you know what Blake's like for following me home."
"Right now?"
"Oh my god." I pushed my dad out into the hall, flicking the latch so I wouldn't get locked out.
"Who is it?" He smirked, almost impressed.
"Nothing happened. We watched some movies he spent the night. We're both dressed. The whole night." Dad had never allowed sex to be a gross thing to talk about. It wasn't possible in this kind of world. It was too common and he never wanted me to be ashamed of it. So, he had been open and honest about sex from a very young age. It was gross when I was a young teen but the older I'd gotten, I kind of liked that I had someone to run to about these things. Lord knows mum wasn't it.
"You didn't?"
"We have, but not last night." Dad raised his eyebrows and I groaned. "I am not dishing out details of my sex life dad." He chuckled. "It's one of the tech guys." I scratched my neck nervously. "The uh- the one who said he was you." Dad let out a hearty laugh. He looked up at me, taking slow breathes to calm himself.
"What's the name of the guy who's got my daughter in bed with her clothes on?"
"Oh my god, you're so embarr-" I sighed, rubbing my forehead. "You're giving me a migraine."
"You know what's good for that."
"Don't you dare sa-"
"Sex."
"FATHER." My face burned red. "Oh I am so staying with mum if this is what it's going to be like."
"Alright alright." He pulled me into a tight hug. "Are you okay though?"
"I feel better than I have the past week yeah." Dad nodded. "Now, can I go back because believe it or not, he's got to work later."
"Mhm. I bet he does."
"You are disgusting." I shook my head and turned back around.
"Stay safe Callie."
"I hope the lift drops 2 floors when you're coming back from breakfast and you projectile vomit at the mirror."
