I had to sleep with Grayson last night in his room.

It was torture.

He kept on accusing me for crossing towards his side of the bed!

I was not!

Maybe I just moved around a lot when I slept..

He had to create a barrier saying, "You are going to corrupt me while I'm sleeping"

I would never! I would just sometimes look over to see his handsome face..

Ugh I sound like a stalker.

He fell asleep soon after and I couldn't sleep at all because he was right next to me.

My heart would not stop beating loudly.

Ugh. What was wrong with me nowadays?

When we arrived at school the next morning I had dark circles from last night.

Grayson seemed to be perfectly fine because he slept perfectly.

He didn't even wake up once.

Ugh. I hate people who can fall asleep so easily.

I was dragging myself to school with Grayson keep on repeating that I was walking too slowly.

We started our morning classes still with the handcuffs on our wrists.

Suddenly, the teacher told Grayson and I that someone was here to see us in the teacher's office.

We started walking to the office and we saw a cop waiting for us.

I screamed, "I didn't do anything! I am still too young to go to jail!"

The cop looked at me amusedly.

He said, "No worries. You guys didn't do anything wrong. I am just here to take back my handcuff. My son took it from me yesterday and I didn't even realize it! He told me that he put it on you guy's wrist so let me get it back."

Grayson's whole face lit up and said, "Finally, thank you so much." I have never seen him look so happy.

Was it that bad to be stuck with me?

Hmph.

The cop took off our handcuffs and my wrist hurt from being in it for such a long time.

We thanked the cop and he left.

Grayson looked over at me and I was about to speak when he turned and walked away.

Ugh.

I started following him trying to make him talk to me. He was avoiding me as usual.

I guess we made no progress on making him talk to me more.

I don't know why but I really wanted to get to know Grayson better. He's too secluded and won't let others figure him out.

So, I started trying to figure him out for the rest of the day.

I went to his closest friend, Elliot, and tried to find out about Grayson's past. There must have been a reason for him to be so cold.

Elliot didn't help much. He just said he only knew that he's from a rich background.

I knew that already because Vincent told me before.

I was sitting outside on the white bench. It was almost November and the leaves were starting to fall. It was a really pretty sight.

Suddenly, Tristan came over to sit next to me.

I looked at him and he smiled at me. He asked, "Why do you look so distraught?"

I remembered Vincent telling me before how Tristan and Grayson used to be close friends.

I asked, "Do you know why Grayson is the way he is?"

Tristan suddenly clenched his jaw and said, "Why do you want to know?"

I could sense that he knew something.

I asked, "I'm just curious. Can you tell me, please?" I used my best puppy-dog face.

He sighed and said, "You might know this but he's pretty rich. Not just his family, but he plays with the stock market and he has his own online business. He's smart and he knows how to trick people and he has a bad background. His family isn't that close to him except Grace. He never spent time with his parents. Grayson was just their son and he was ignored by them ever since he was young. They were too busy to spend time with him. He grew up all alone and I was his only close friend. We have known each other since we were in first grade. Maybe you don't know this but there are all boys elementary and middle school near here like this high school. We always went to the same school so we were always close. We told each other everything."

He sighed shaking his head while I encouraged him to continue.

He said, "It was our sophomore year in this high school when things got complex. We weren't always the only close friends. There used to be a girl that hanged out with us all the time. She was nice, sweet, and smart. I liked her for a really long time. She knew, but she chose to ignore it. She liked Grayson. But, Grayson knew I liked her and he told me that he didn't like her at all except as friends. She knew that so when I asked her out she just said yes. We dated for a long time. But suddenly, she became distant. I know I was immature but when I saw her trying to kiss Grayson, I punched him. He did nothing wrong, but I couldn't punch the girl. I felt betrayed because Grayson wasn't trying to stop her from kissing him. I hated him and I tried to question him but he just ignored me."

I looked at Tristan sympathetically. I didn't understand why Grayson would do that.

Tristan said, "Ever since then we just kind of started hating each other. I still don't know why he let the girl try to kiss him."

He looked really sad and I felt really bad.

I touched his shoulder lightly and said, "I know it's wrong for Grayson to have done that, but do you think it was really worth breaking up your long friendship? There must have been a reason and there are more good memories you guys must have had. Is it worth it to become enemies just because of a girl?"

He sighed and said, "It's not but we hated each other for two years already. We kind of don't know how to make up with each other. This group thing and all the fightings just happened. Sometimes I feel like I'm standing alone while the everything is moving by so quickly."

Suddenly, the school bell rang announcing that it was time to go to class.

Tristan stood up and started walking to class when I called his name. He turned around and asked, "What?"

I asked, "What was the girl's name? The one that made you guys hate each other?"

Tristan looked confused as to why I was wondering but I kept on asking him.

He said, "Her name is Gabriel. Gabriel Donavan. She goes to Grace's school."

I just nodded and told him to go ahead to our class without me.

I had something that I needed to do.
