Chapter 16

We were preparing to have a small barbecue party outside. The sun was already setting because we have been playing at the beach for a long time. It was getting chilly too.

John was helping us set up the barbacue machine and was cooking us meat.

Yum~~

Grace and Vincent were arguing with one another again while Grayson and Tristan were quietly talking to one another.

I had no friend!

Sean, the little boy, came up to me and said, "Haha, you loner!"

I glared at the little kid and said, "You don't seem to have a friend either."

He glared at me and I glared right back at him.

Tristan came over and said, "Okay both of you guys stop being childish and help John set up."

I sighed and went to help John. I was literally fighting with a little kid.

Soon, we were setting up the table and John brought out more food.

We started to eat and talk while laughing.

Suddenly, Vincent stood up and shouted, "Time for truth or dare!"

Everyone groaned.

I didn't have anything against truth or dare so I agreed to play and Grace joined in.

We asked Tristan and he said he will play too.

We all looked at Grayson and he rolled his eyes saying no. He said it was too childish.

Sean left a long time ago because he wanted to go meet his other little buddies. He said bye to everyone except me.

Hmph.

We started the game and Vincent wanted to go first.

Vincent chose to ask truth or dare to Grace first.

She cautiously said, "Truth."

Vincent whined and said, "No fun! You should have chosen dare."

Grace just rolled her eyes at his childish behavior and told him to just ask her a question.

He smiled evily and asked, "Who do you like?"

Grace blushed and said, "Not telling you."

Vincent just said, "You have to. You chose truth!"

Grace glared at him and said, "No one."

Everyone booed at her because we could all see that she liked someone.

Grayson smirked and said, "Sis, didn't you tell me before that you have a crush on someone who goes to our school?"

Grace scowled at him and told him to shut up.

Vincent tried to find out but Grace wouldn't budge. She just kept on saying she didn't like anyone.

As Vincent kept on whining, Grace said it was her turn to ask someone truth or dare.

She looked around at us and then smiled at me very evily.

She said, "Madison, truth or dare?"

I said, "Uh... dare?" I did not want to tell everyone here any of my secrets by choosing truth.

Grace's smile grew bigger and she said, "Kiss Tristan! On the lip!"

Everyone went dead silent except for Vincent and Grace. They seemed super happy and excited about this dare. They were both squealing like little girls.

Unlike them, I was frozen. I'm pretty sure Tristan was too.

I shook my head at Grace and she said I couldn't back out because I chose dare.

Ugh.

I turned my head and looked at Tristan and he awkwardly smiled at me.

I did not understand his expression at all. Did he want this?

I don't know why, but I turned to look at Grayson.

He was staring at me intently and when I looked over at him he raised his eyebrows at me.

I didn't understand his expression, but I did know that he wasn't too happy about this. Hmm.. why?

Our stare was broken when Grace said, "Maybe it's too mean to give a kiss on the lip. It could be your first kiss, so kiss his cheek! It's not bad at all!"

I glared at her and nodded.

This is what I get for picking dare.

I slowly leaned towards Tristan's cheek about to kiss him when Grayson pulled me up by pulling my arm.

I don't even know how he moved that fast to get to me from sitting across from me.

He said, "This game isn't fun at all. Let's do other things. There were fireworks in the garage, we could do that."

At the mention of fireworks, Grace and Vincent stood up quickly and raced to the garage yelling that they will get the fireworks.

When they left, all three of us were silent.

We were all avoiding eye contact.

I was avoiding even looking at Tristan because of what could have happened if Grayson didn't stop us.

Grayson probably just stopped us from kissing because he thought I needed to be saved.

He's a good friend.

I smiled at him and he looked at me for a moment and looked away.

Maybe not.

I pouted and soon Grace and Vincent ran up to us and passed us fireworks that we had to hold with our hands.

I forgot all about the dare and started to run around having fun with Grace and Vincent.

While I was admiring the fireworks, Tristan came up to me.

He said, "I have never seen Grayson act that way before. He never cared about these games and he would have just let you kiss my cheek."

I blushed bright red because I just remembered the dare.

Thank god it was dark out or else Tristan would have seen my bright red face.

Tristan turned to look at me and said, "I actually wanted you to do the dare."

My jaw dropped and I gawked at him.

What did he just say?

I whispered, "What?"

His face came near my face and he said, "I actually wanted you to do the dare."

Before I could even respond, he kissed my cheek and left.

Oh. My. God.

What just happened?

I know when usually guys do that, you blush and your heart beats faster, but mine didn't. I felt confused.

I felt like I didn't want this to happen.

I didn't understand my own feelings..
