'it wasn't a question'?

That was enough to silence me. Sitting in my car with my music on shuffle, I headed straight to Theo's place.

I wanted to get my clothes on the way so I'd have something to wear tonight and tomorrow but before I could even suggest the idea to him, he had said that I could sleep in his clothes.

Leaving no room for an argument, I did as I was told.

Shockingly.

What is happening to me? That sexy jerk has my morals twisted.

The closer I got to Theo's house, the more I thought about what I witnessed today with Amber. Who cares about Melanie showing face, that has-been was irrelevant, but Amber... She was the one who shocked me. Her being related to someone in this pack and that expression she wore on her face, the look of rejection...

I felt pity towards her, and I couldn't explain why. She's a backstabbing turd but... It begged the question, why was she the way she was?

I should tell Theo about it when I reach his place. See if he already knew about her relations to Amber's family. Though, something tells me that not much talking will happen tonight. I can't put my finger on what it is but a vibe he's giving me... I sound nuts.

Either way, the butterflies were back in my stomach, acting like a guest who just doesn't get the hint that they've been over too long. Like hello, time to leave! I've given you enough of my time, food, warmth, and company, and as much as I like ya, shoo. Vamoose!

Argh.

I hope I don't bump into his Dad or Amber. I don't want to be hounded about being a part of their wedding.

Maybe I should drive home instead?

Too late. That idea was wasted as I pulled up into Theo's driveway, parking behind his car and stepping out into the night's air.

He was waiting by the front door, keys jingling in his hand as he unlocked it and pushed it open.

Still waiting for me, I contemplated walking slower. It would be funny to test my sloth impersonation. However, I don't think he'd be humoured by it having to hold the door for me the entire time.

"Is everyone home?" I asked when I caught up to him and stepped inside.

"Yeah," he answered, shutting the door behind me. "You hungry at all?"

"Surprisingly no."

"Okay. Thirsty?"

I raised my eyebrows at his politeness. Very considerate... Weirdly considerate? Maybe he was trying to amp up his romantic side... "Uh, no. I don't think I am."

"Alright. Let's go to my room, I don't want to get stuck with them." Referring to his dad and Amber.

"I hear that," I muttered, climbing the stairs and following behind him.

I plopped myself down on his computer chair, swivelling it around to face where he stood, shutting the bedroom door. I heard the lock click into place. "Do you need to go to the toilet at all? Now would be a good time." The toilet?

"Why is now a good time?" I drawled, giving him a quizzical look. Then it dawned on me, he must have the runs! He probably needs to go to the toilet with an upset stomach, hence why he was late! So, he wants me to go first that way I don't suffer the bad smell and have my eyebrows singed off. "Nope. I am good."

"You sure?"

"Yes."

He stared at me for a second, scanning my outfit. "Hm. Okay, if you're sure. You probably want to wear something comfier though."
