Calling out a bye to Mr and Mrs Brilis, after the two left us with a warm home cooked meal and an embarrassing cheek squish, I collapsed on Felix's bed, hearing Felix's father's car reverse out the driveway. "Felix, can I stay the night?"
"You intend to either way," He mumbled, making me shoot him a knowing smile. I'm an open book.
"You know me well," I yawned, my legs dangling up in the air. "Rick's staying at Caroline's, he messaged me, so I'd rather not spend the night alone. Hey!" I sat up in his bed with a grin. "Let's get some Friday night snacks! We haven't had a snack night in ages!" Snack night, as in, the two of us, watching movies or blasting music and just stuffing our face with unhealthy snacks.
"That's true," Felix swung his swivel chair around and got up. Yes! I guess it was settled, and junk food it was! I followed after him as we headed downstairs.
"Where's your parents headed out to anyway?" I asked, watching him grab the keys to his mum's minivan. Stereotypical car, I know.
"I'd rather not know," He shrugged on his jacket and grimaced.
"Oo," I wiggled my brows. "Is it baby making time?"
"Cora, I will kick you out of my house if you continue."
"I'd like to see you try."
I grinned at his eye roll.
Pushing the trolley along, I pursed my lips and scanned the aisle. Felix dumped a packet of marshmallows into the trolley and stared at me. "I think we got enough."
I shot him a perplexed look and glanced down at all the items we so far had gathered. "No, we're missing one important thing."
"And what's that?" He paused and shook his head. "Nope, wait, don't tell me. Strawberry cheesecake." My smile stretched out into a creepy grin, head nodding at his words.
"Oh yeah," I nodded. Felix was no longer creeped out by the expression on my face, use to it by now, he followed after me, all the way towards the frozen dessert section. "Oh, no!"
"Oh what a shame," He sarcastically muttered in a monotone voice, grabbing the trolley from me and walking away.
"They seriously don't have any?" I asked no one in particular, narrowing my eyes at the selection of frozen desserts. All things I didn't want.
"Just terrible," His disinterested, monotone voice commented. Terrible? It's horrendous! He called out, adding, "I'm going to line up, have fun in your puddle of tears." Though, I wasn't really listening to him.
"This sucks big time!" I exclaimed, slamming the glass door shut. How do they NOT have my favourite frozen cheesecake available? "Felix, I could literally cry right now!"I felt like cursing at the grocery gods with a dramatic "WHY!" and a fist shaking at the sky. "Seriously, Felix, I'm so... Felix?" I turned my head, looking around the aisle. Did he seriously just walk off?
Can this get any worse?
Seems so. I must have a magical way with jinxing the internal thoughts in my mind.
Felix and I shared a look.
A horrified one.
"What the fuck is he doing here?" I harshly whispered, my head lowering as I adjusted the hood of my jacket over my head.
"Oh, I'll just go ask for you." Not helping Felix!
When Felix slowly turned into his driveway, it was a complete and utter shock, a scary one at that, to see Theo casually glance over in our direction but pay no notice towards me. Yet. That's right. Theo. Who, was perched right against Mario's brick wall, the two of them exchanging casual chat in his front yard. Unbelievable.
