Huh?

Confused, I tapped the warm flesh my hand was rested against.

What's that?

My eyes were still closed, my body slightly aching like I was just put through an intense session of boot-camp, I felt warmth overhearting me.

Roughly shoving the blankets off me, I slapped the flesh my hand was pressed against before my eyes flashed open, startled at the sudden flinch and movement.

That's a person!

Snapping my head to the left of me, I was even more confused.

Am I hallucinating or is a baffled, tired and slightly irritated Theo beside me?

I rubbed my eyes. He's really here.

He furrowed his eyebrows, looking down at the spot on his bare chest I slapped.

"What the..." I drew my eyebrows together as I sat up in my bed. Tiredness still hitting me like a brick, I was trying to wrap my mind around how he ended up in my bed... hell, wrap my brain around the entire situation in general.

Then it hit me like a firefighters spray of water slamming against a burning building.
Last night. My parents betraying me. The man who... hurt me like that. What on earth...

"Morning," Theo's deep voice said, breaking me from my sad train of thought.

"Morning," I sleepily murmured, sliding my gaze to him. He was staring up at me, his head on the pillow beside mine. "You... stayed the night?"

"You were already asleep," My face relaxed after that, understanding why I didn't remember seeing him in my room. Damn, I must've been out for it.

That meant... he came here to comfort me? I felt giddy.

I hissed to myself, suddenly feeling an ache in my shoulder as I moved my arm with little to none consideration for myself. Theo was quick to lean up, wrapping his arm around my wrist. "Be careful!" He said, glancing at my face with worry.

"Sorry?" I frowned. Ouch, I really am sore.

Fucking asshole theif-abducting twat! Because of that deranged stranger, I'm in pain! Shit, I sighed to myself, lifting my hips up to lie back down against my mattress.

"Don't apologise," Theo was quick to say, analysing me while pulling the sheets back up to my neck. I wanted to say no because I was feeling hot as hell but it was too sweet of a gesture to halt. His hand firmly pressed against the mattress, his head hovered over me, mouth moving as he added, "how bad does it hurt?"

I only flicked my stare to him.

He got the hint.

Nodding, "Right," He said before pressing his lips together. "I'll get you some painkillers. Water too." It was nice witnessing him be so... caring.

"Nah," Despite the ache, I forced a fake smile. "I'm fine."

"It wasn't an option."

"It should be."

I didn't miss the ghost of a smile reach the corner of his lips, before he shook his head and stood up. My eyes dropped to his shirtless torso, momentarily forgetting about my pain. "You're still stubborn?" He didn't sound surprised.

"What, you think that'll disappear overnight?" Then I snorted to myself. "I still got it." With a proud grin on my face, I wanted to pat my own shoulder.
