He was a on a mission. A mission to punish...
...All of us because no one done the homework.
I stayed slumped in my seat, unhappy that I was forced to move away from Felix. Moved all the way in the second last row, right in front of Theo's seat. Yeah, he who got to stay where he was, meaning he was behind me and could torment me if he wanted.... Yet, he hasn't for the whole twenty minutes of class. Not even a glance spared towards me.
Asshole.
I side eyed the guy sitting beside me.
John Nickles.
Well, at least my seat buddy for the lesson was an alright guy, I was pretty lucky to be moved beside him but Felix wasn't so lucky. Unfortunately for him, the seat beside him was occupied by the lovely Melanie, who still deserves a hairbrush up her ass.
Mr Gonzales was in a really cranky mood. Okay, so maybe no one done their homework, including me, but still... he could calm it down a bit. I had better things to do than homework (watching Netflix counts as better things, okay?)
Rage was a hilarious look on him. The fuzzy sweater he had on clashed with his sour mood. Like an angry toddler.
Suddenly the door to the classroom opened, interrupted by a teacher needing to speak with Mr Gonzales. Thank Mother Nature!
Cya later Gonzales, you cranky turd.
Shooting us all a pointed look, he barked out, "Stay silent while I'm gone! If I come back to see you all playing up, it'll be a detention for all of you." Yeah yeah, whatever.
I didn't miss the added stare Gonazales shot towards the person sitting behind me.
Theo.
It was silent... until the door closed and someone murmured a "thank fuck he's gone."
I cracked a grin hearing that and met eye contact with Felix, who peaked over his shoulder at me and gave me a "kill me" look. I mouthed, "sucked in!" Be it payback for him ditching me at his house and leaving me in the hot hands of hot Theo.
"Sorry, do you have a pen I can borrow?" John's voice surprised me. I turned to him. He sheepishly held up his pen, saying, "I've run out of ink."
"Oh, sure," I nodded, reaching for my backpack under the table and rummaging through my messy bag. Was that a banana peel I just touched? Anyway.... "Here you go," I dropped my bag on the floor and offered him the pen.
He smiled, muttering a thanks and looked back down to his book. I paused, staring at the side of the blonde haired boys face. John was always a nice, average kind of guy. "Hey John?"
Surprised, his blue eyes flickered to mine.
"You're friends with Nelson aren't you?"
Nelson, the one who was being tormented by dumb and dumber. The one who was still on the back of my mind. I had barely seen him since that scene in the hallway and I... I don't know why, I just felt this need to make sure he was alright.
"Yeah..." He paused, shooting me a hesitant look. "Why?" I could understand his hesitation, it was a random ask.
"I've been meaning to talk to him," I pursed my lips. "I wanted to check up on him."
"Right... I heard about what you done for him," He nodded, shooting me a tight smile. "It was really nice of you."
I was a little surprised that Nelson mentioned it to him. I smiled back at John. "Well... someone had to do something. Nelson's too nice, I had to step in. Put dumb and dumber in their place."
