Godavari's disappearance caused unimaginable sorrow to Satyabhama. She quietly sat in a corner of her grandfather's Hut whole day.
Shrinivasa and Ambarisha tried to talk with her but it went vain. The royal chariot halted infront of the hut. Both Vijaya and Rukmini stepped down. Search parties returned empty handed marking the failure to trap single Karkata.
She gestured the maids to bring the food down from the carriage. Vijaya went to fetch fresh water from the well for them.
" Come on Thatha have something.... And you too Svami" Rukmini said softly.
Shrinivasa refused but forced Ambarisha to have some.
Rukmini served food to Ambarisha and took another platter of rice inside the hut for Satyabhama.
"Satyabhama" She called softly.
Satyabhama just looked up to see Rukmini and sat quiet again. Rukmini sighed. She kept the platter near the cot and sat infront of Satyabhama.
After few minutes of deadly silence Rukmini decided to initiate.
" I don't know what to say. Some how my careless caused this disaster. I badly wanna apologize but I know it won't suit. I feel for Godavari " Rukmini said slightly pressing the palms of Satyabhama.
" We grew up together" Satyabhama spoke for the first time after two days of silence. Rukmini's eyes turned soft seeing Satyabhama opening up with her.
" Hmm " She hummed encouraging Satyabhama to speak. At this hour listening to her rants was the least thing she could do for her comfort.
" Her parents also did Paricharike. My parents adopted her and kept as my companion. Since then we are together I was some 5 I guess. Even after getting soo many privileges as my companion she also chose to stay as my maid. I don't remember a single day without her till now. I don't know what I should take when I go to shower. I don't know how much amount of Sandalwood paste would be enough for my bath. She looked after everything. Now.... " Satyabhama gasped for air after her continuous rant.
Rukmini quickly forwarded a glass of water. Satyabhama looked at Rukmini for a while who had tears hearing her words. Rukmini again gestured to have water. Without opposing Satyabhama swallowed half glass of water.
" Hmm" Rukmini hummed again encouraging her.
" I wish not to say further. I don't wanna breakdown again" She said.
" Relax Satyabhama! Godavari went far away from us. Relax" Rukmini had a hard time to stay composed.
" No Godavari is there. She can't go without my permission. She will come back. I strongly believe that. Venkateshwara has taken enough from me, my parents and even my child. If he take Godavari also then that would be ab injustice. He can't do that " Satyabhama declared wiping her face.
Another moment of silence prevailed between them. Satyabhama was startled by faint sniffles. She looked at Rukmini.
" You don't want to talk with me?" Satyabhama asked Rukmini. She was as usually rough even though her intension was caring. She don't know to be elegant she can't help her straight words.
" Say what?" Rukmini questioned.
" You are innocent I know but not dumb. You know what I am asking. You don't want share anything with me?" Satyabhama asked.
" I am saying truth Satyabhama. I really don't know how a royal family work. I didn't knew that I should take gaurds everywhere. I was all a parrot in golden cage till now and when I got freedom first life I saw was the life of a commoner and hence just came alone to meet you. I never ever imagined all these things could happen. Never in my wildest of dreams I wished harm for our child " Rukmini narrated her pov.
