KWA UPEPO: NAMOR
While there was no actual exchange between the other, Namor followed Mawu without any arguments. He trusted her enough, and his ego made it easier to believe he could do more damage than she ever could.
Mawu would look over her shoulders occasionally as they walked through trees and fields to ensure he hadn't wandered off.
There wasn't any real plan; The idea to take him away from the awkward situation was impulsive. Now, she had to think about where to bring him. After ten minutes of walking, Mawu came up with a good plan, one she believed could be helpful.
"How much longer?" Namor questioned while bending to avoid a tree branch that had grown in a low position. The forest was dense. Namor could barely see the soil underneath the grass and other plant life. Animals and insects called out into the humid air while Mawu pulled her hair into a ponytail. His eyes watched her back and shoulder blades as she moved her hair. Sweat rolled down her back, and he took in the way she moved her left arm with care.
She stops before kicking off from the ground to float and land on a large boulder, blocking their path gently. Namor stood at ground level, craning his neck to look at her.
"There is an opening not too far from here," Mawu tells him, swatting at a gnat. "You'll see. I think you'll enjoy it."
Jumping from the boulder, Mawu continued, and Namor copied her movements.
The walk continued, and Namor looked around, becoming uneasy. This land is unfamiliar. And he questioned who or what could be lurking nearby.
Hiding his thoughts, Namor raised his head to keep his guard up while Mawu hurried towards the opening she spoke of earlier. Breaking through the tree line, Mawu breathed in sharply, amazed by the beautiful open field she had seen several times before. Still, the lands of Wakanda could never bore her.
Namor stepped out behind Mawu, gazing at the long grass. A large family of elephants moved into the tree line from across the domain. A few other animals ran once, seeing the pair step into view. Mawu placed her hands on her hips, nodding her head—impressed.
"This place is beautiful," Namor spoke, taking one step forward.
"Me and my sister came here often when we first moved into Wakanda. We spent hours talking about our futures." Mawu tells him as she lowers her arms. "Times were simpler, I think."
Namor tilts his head to look at Mawu.
"Where is your sister?" He questioned, raising his brows.
"She's far away from here." Turning to look at the man, she noticed how genuinely amazed he appeared—soaking in the scenes before him.
The woman relaxed as she watched Namor—studying his peaceful nature. Her fingers touched the gift he had positioned onto her writ, for a moment forgetting the crimes he had created. But instead of carrying on with anger and distaste, Mawu waves for him to sit. They'd need to preserve as much energy as they could.
"Sit," Mawu tells him while she carefully planted herself on the grassy floor. Once settled, she raised her knees to her chest and hugged her shins. "We should talk. This is the best time."
Namor, with hesitation, does what she says. He bent his knees so he could prop his forearms and lean forward.
The duo silently watches the last remaining elephants start for the trees. Mawu smiled, knowing she'd see them again. That family had grown attached to Mawu after she saved a mother's baby from certain death. Now, a bond is there, and every so often, Mawu visited them to bring treats and words she was sure they understood.
