~Rory

WE were watching a movie. A rom-com.

I was up in Kie's bedroom with her, we had changed in shorts pjs, I have some of mine over at hers for when we decide to have an impromptu sleepover like tonight.

I chuckled as a funny scene comes on, eating the popcorns which Kie brought.

"This is so stupid.. they hate each other, but then go and do stuff like this," I laughed shaking my head. "This shows they care!" I added, looking at her beside me.

"It definitely does... I mean, this 'enemies to lovers' trope is cool and all, but is that even possible in real-life?" She asked, smiling. "I can't imagine falling for someone I hate, that much!" she added.

"Yeah, exactly. It's not too realistic! Best friends to lovers is something that happens... and it's so sweet as well," I nodded, looking back at the screen to watch the guy make a sneed comment at the girl.

"Yeah...best friends to lovers is something..." Kie whispers, her tone soft and low.

I turn to look at her once again, catching her eyes looking in mine already. Her light brown eyes twinkling from the golden lamp-light on her nightstand.

"Yeah..." I nodded swallowing, my eyes not leaving hers, as I felt warm and fuzzy once again.

How does she have this much effect on me?

I cleared my throat and looked away to the screen once again, both us staying silent as the moment passes over. I reach to grab a few popcorns from the bowl in between us, when my hand brushes with hers and I feel my skin spark up.

I look to her again as she does the same, my eyes wide as we both stare at each other, wondering if the other felt that spark or not. I let out a shaky breath as my eyes fall on her beautiful face.

Her dark brown curls, falling effortlessly down her back. The olive tanned skin looking so soft and perfect without a flaw as a small dent forms on her cheeks whenever she smiles. Her soft light brown eyes, so kind and deep. They always bring some unknown comfort when I stare in them. Her small button nose which makes her look so cute when she scrunches it. Her lips perfect and soft... I wonder how they would feel against mine.

"Rory...Can I be honest with you?" Kie breaks me out my trance as I bring my eyes to look up in her eyes again.

Was I staring at her lips this entire time?
