Hermione's POV:
"Miss Granger, as much as I enjoy watching my students injure themselves, I just don't have the time."
Hermione was getting frustrated. She had been at it with Professor Hooch for the last ten minutes. The woman wouldn't give in.
Scurrying closely behind the Professor, Hermione tried matching her step whilst also sidestepping students, basically sprinting through the hallways of Hogwarts.
"Please, Professor. This lesson would be an opportunity to show the first years what there is to look forward to."
"Yes, yes, and as amazing as that sounds, I really do not have the time, Miss Granger. A lot is going on today and I just have no time to spare."
The Professor suddenly stopped in her tracks leaving Hermione to collide into her back. It was like the Professor didn't even notice as she spun around with chivalrous speed, a cheeky expression on her face.
"Professor?"
"I have a wonderful idea."
Oh no, she thought. This ought to be good.
"Anything," Hermione lied.
She just wanted to supervise whilst the Professor gave the first years their first flying lesson.
"How about you teach them?"
"What?" Hermione's eyes almost bulged out their sockets.
"Yes, I think that's a splendid idea."
The Professor spun back around as though she finished her thought and wanted to get on with her day.
"Get to class," the Professor yelled at the students whom she stormed through. "I'm sure you all have classes to attend to. If I'm late then so are you."
"But wait... Professor." Hermione was puffed out. Her thighs began to burn from all the sprinting. "I can't teach the students. I don't usually work well with others, let alone teach others. It's even difficult for me to tutor."
The Professor flew up her hands as if that was as little inconvenience to her than a fly on the wall.
"Think of it as an extra curricular activity. You know what? I'll make it an extra curricular and you can earn points for how well you do... or for not killing any of the students," she muttered to herself.
"But Professor..." Hermione's frustration got the better of her as a whine escaped her lips. "Please."
"I have made up my mind." Professor Hooch stopped in her tracks again and pointed at Hermione as if to seal the deal. "You will teach the class for the how many sessions you planned on dumping the student on me for and in the process you will earn house points and it will be considered as an extra curricular activity."
Hermione shook her head, but the Professor gave her a nod with her most charming smile, and hurried off to wherever she was going to.
I'm so screwed.
She stomped her feet in annoyance and dragged herself to the Great Hall where they were miraculously still serving some brunch.
Hermione stuffed her face, and almost screamed into her bite of the delicious custard filled donut in hunger and delight.
She didn't know what to do, and wasn't in the mood to even attempt to teach the First Years.
Her mind was already preoccupied from being behind on her school work and the consequences of Ron's life choices. She was tired.
