I would have liked to say that I snuck off to help Logan and the team, but instead I was stuck awkwardly with Conner. He let me in his room and even allowed me to sit on his bed. But was I allowed to go anywhere else? No.

Logan made it clear that until he was back Conner, one of the best and skillful mutants at the school, was to keep an eye on me. In other words, he was stuck as my babysitter for a couple of days.

I shouldn't be complaining too much though because Conner is not a sore on the eyes. He had on dark jeans, a dark blue t-shirt, and a black leather jacket.

After Logan left and I was laying on Conner's bed, Conner tried to start a conversation as he sat in his desk chair from across the room, "So I heard you got shot."

Horrified at the thought of the whole school knowing one of the most embarrassing and personal moments of my life, I sit with my mouth gaped.

I start to ask, "W-Who-"

He smiles at me, "Don't worry, only I know because I'm Student President." How comforting...

As long as he doesn't know that details I think I should be in the clear.

Intending to lighten the conversation I smile back, "Yeah, it was pretty horrible, but amazingly, I'm healed now so I should be back focusing on you know...school work and all..." I trail off hoping that I won't have to talk to him anymore. I throw my hands on my lap and fidget with my fingers feeling his eyes burn into my soul.

I bet he has a girlfriend. I should ask him. Wait no, I'll ask Summer or Chloe. Not that he'd ever want to date a girl like me, I mean I'm nothing now. Beauty-less and powerless.

I could have achieved a lot with my power. I could have even been one of the most powerful mutants alive. Feeling my heart sink, I whisk my negative thoughts away.

I see him analyzing me in deep thought. Oh great, he's been staring at me. I can't handle a couple more days of this.

"I don't think you're healed at all Charlee." Conner leans forward in his chair leaning his arms on his knees and interlocks his fingers together.

I laugh a little too sarcastically, "Well, you've only known me for about twenty minutes in total. Plus, I feel fine. The only reason Logan helped me in here was because Jean gave me some medication." I feel him about to say something else about me so I uncomfortably stand up cutting him off, "You know what, I'm going to go find my friends. It was nice meeting you Conner, but your babysitting is unneeded." I move to walk out the door but Conner rushes to block my escape. Conner, about two heads taller than me, glares at me waiting for me to fight him and for him to win.

His eyes turn darker, "Logan left me to make sure you don't do anything stupid and from what I saw a few nights ago when you were with Chloe and Summer smoking against regulation, you're full of idiotic and poor decisions." I tried to pretend his words didn't hurt me, but they cut deep. He's right, I am stupid and foolish, but he's also a pretentious asshole.

I look down angrily, "Can I at least get some food?"

His eyes soften and he nods his head. He moves out of the way but keeps a close eye on me.

As we walk down the hall side by side he asks me, "So Charlee, I like to know everyone here at Xavier's School so tell me something about yourself." He glances at me with a gorgeous white smile.

Damn he's hot. I stare into his deep blue eyes forgetting the question until I snap myself out of my trance.

"Ummm...Well, I like music and reading." I see the kitchen empty because school is probably already in session.
