The first thing I see stepping out of the cell is Dr. Hanson's face with a metal helmet on. He smiles at me specifically and then Logan, "Hello Charlee is it?...And Logan. I do say it is a surprise you've gotten this far, but your escape attempts are futile."

Suddenly, I feel shocks of pain hit my leg, and I yell out grasping Logan for dear life. I see the guard from before shoot shot after shot at Logan hitting him in the chest and arms. Bright red darts hang from his skin and mine. No! We're surely goners now. I slump to the ground letting go of Logan's hold feeling my heart sink in defeat. My head slams into the floor as I lie on my side staring at the unraveling scene before me more helpless than ever. I see Logan extend his claws and in fury push his claws in the guard's chest. Blood spatters out, and I cringe as I slip away from consciousness.

Dr. Hanson yells, "We need backup! Get more gas!" Dr. Hanson throws a metal can at Logan and a white mist, surely gas to knock us out, surrounds us. Logan growls and lunges for the doctor. The doctor, with aging hair and face, steps back in fear.

My eyes shut and then open as I try to stay awake. The gas fills the room until I can barely see anything but white. Within the smoke, I see flashes of blue light spark around the room and an instant later I'm out like a light switch.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I crack my eyes open feeling ridiculously dizzy. My world spins at its axis as I try to focus on reality. We were outbeat. Were we?

Someone snaps their fingers in my face, thinking its Logan I speak, "Where are we?" My voice comes out dry, hoarse, and above anything else slow. Am I drugged?

I look down beyond my blur of vision and focus enough to see my arms in metal restraints.

His voice sends fearful shivers down my body, "Sorry to say dearie, but you're not in Kansas anymore. We've, or should I say I, been needing your powers. I've been waiting for the right person to come along with the right gifts. So far, you've won first place." With no longer a blurry vision, I see Dr. Hanson take a step back from his standing position and sit down in his chair, wearing a white lab coat and black glasses.

My powers? He couldn't possibly take them.

He continues to speak while giving me a grin, "With my new abilities, I'll be able to take over the world. Your powers are going to change everything!" The first question that pops up in my head is am I going to die? A violent disease of fear erupts within me, and I shiver within the metal chair. My head is restrained by a big metal bar circling around my forehead, preventing me from any possible movements.

I scream and scream...and scream because that is all I can do, that and cry. I don't want my powers taken! I don't want to die in the hands of him! I can't!

"Shhh... Charlee." I see him roll his chair in front of mine and my eyes widen in panic. I stop screaming and try to move my head back, but I am unable to. He brushes the tears away from my face and smiles. "The procedure will begin shortly, and then it will be over."

My lip quivers in horror, "How?" I try my best to keep my tears in, but I feel them well up

He lets go of my cheek and clasps his hands together. "If you didn't see my quarrel with Logan, then I will tell you now, I have abilities, too. I have the power of electricity." He sticks his hand out and a bolt of bright blue light flashes from his palms. "I've been looking for a cure not only for myself but for all mutants. Let's just say long story short my family got caught in the line of fire when swimming in our backyard pool. I vowed from that day on I would cure the world of monsters and their powers even if I have to kill myself in the process. I want to eradicate the evil that runs through mutants' veins. With your powers, I'll be able to accomplish so much more when the whole world is on my side. I've been waiting for you to come for ages and now that you're finally here...I'm going to transfer your powers to me with a machine I have been working on. You'll see shortly how it works. By the way you don't have to worry about your previous injuries. I injected you with my own healing serum. In just a few moments, we'll be ready to proceed before any more unexpected guests show up. Now, excuse me while I go get my assistant to wheel in the machine and get the needles ready."
