After visiting my new room Summer took me to get something to eat. There's a kitchen inside the school, like a full out kitchen! This place just keeps getting better and better and apparently there's a pool outside also.
Summer made some grilled cheese and served three on a platter just for me. I ate all of it with no regrets. That once empty feeling went away in minutes with the perfectly cooked cheesy goodness.
I finish my grilled cheese and set it in the sink.
I look at Summer, "What's next?"
"Did you want to meet some of the people here?" No. I probably look like I got ran over by a bus.
"Actually, could I take a shower?"
"Of course. I'll show you to the showers." She says happily.
We went through the hallways and past the girls' bedrooms to the showers. Every time I saw someone in the hallway I ducked my head down, stupid I know. I'm just really uncomfortable at the moment. I can't help it. This place is new and strange.
Summer leads me to a room inside of the hallways. Inside, white tiles surround the whole area. They're stalls that separate each individual shower head keeping showering private. On the side of the door there lies a stack of white towels for people to grab.
Summer hands me one and then says goodbye. Okay, she left me here by myself, alone with no clue what to do.
I take a shower on the back wall and close the stall door. I hang the towel on the rack so it won't get wet. Inside the shower it supplies strawberry shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
I slip my clothes off and turn the shower on. I instantly feel relaxed when the water warms. It feels good to take a shower. I get my head wet as I massage my sore muscles. I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight knowing I'm not home.
It's still hard to believe that my parents abandoned me, left me to die. You think you'd know a person you've known your whole life and that they would love you unconditionally. As I think back now, all I would have to say is lessened learn.
When the shower becomes cold I shut it off. I shouldn't have taken such a long shower. I can't hide from the people here.
I really don't want to put my dirty clothes back on. I take them in my hand and smell them. They have a musty odor. I shake them and immediately dust flies in the air. Definitely not putting those back on.
Seeing how the showers to my new room is not too far away, I guess I could make it there with my towel. I grab my dirty clothes and make sure my towel is secured tight. I step out and look around.
Okay the coast is clear. I walk down to the end of the hallway and turn the corner cautiously. Maybe I should go back and put the dirty clothes on. I clear my mind and keep going. The room is only a two minute walk I tell myself.
I advance to the end the next hallway and stop when I hear noises. I slam my back on the end of the wall as a group of girls pass by my hallway. Ha! They didn't even see me.
Counting myself lucky, I stick my head out making sure the girls are gone. Okay they left. I quickly bolt out from my hiding spot out into the bare hallway. I'm starting to think this wasn't my brightest idea.
I immediately slam into someone. My heart races in embarrassment. Who could it be.
I start to fall backwards still clutching my towel and clothes. With my eyes shut tight I prepare to hit the ground. I continue to keep my eyes shut waiting to hit the floor. It never comes though. With fear racing in my heart I look up.
