An awkward exchange

Me and Ooma got up early, we wanted to make sure we didn't keep Link and the Princess waiting in case they left without us. So we ended up standing around by the gates of Castletown for a while until finally Link and the Princess emerged.

Zelda looked as gorgeous as the day before, her hair was glowing even brighter in the morning sun than last night. She was wearing the same clothes as yesterday as we would be doing more adventuring.

Link was wearing his champions tunic with a Hylian hood and pants. The black fabric of the hood was blowing ever so slightly in the lightest morning breeze.

"Good morning Princess and Link." I greeted them both, with a bright smile and cheery attitude.

"And a good morning to you to Y/n and Ooma." Zelda replied her smile matching and surpassing the excitement that I had faked moments ago. "Come on we should get going, there is no time to lose."

Princess Zelda lead the way, me and Ooma followed closely behind and Link trailed behind all of us, his main focus being on the Princess as always.

The beginning of our journey was quiet, only the occasional conversation about something on the side of the road or a bird flying over our heads. Zelda was constantly pointing out different types of animals and sharing facts about them.

The Princess was clearly a bit of a nerd, especially when it came to science and the world around us. I thought it was quite cute. At one point the Princess crouched down and pulled out some kind of stone tablet. She pointed it at a rare type of flower before the stone seemed to flash and make a sound.

"What is that?" I asked curiously, looking over the Princess' shoulder to try and see what it was.

"Oh, this is the sheikah slate, it's an ancient piece of technology but it is very powerful." Zelda explained, seeming over joyed to talk more about the ancient technology.

"What were you doing with it?" Ooma questioned further as we both still had no idea what it did.

"Well the sheikah slate has the ability to take photos. Sort of like paintings but... Well it's hard to explain, let me just show you." Zelda gave up on her explanation and stopped walking, ready to demonstrate the device. "Ooma you stand next to Y/n and smile."

Ooma stood next to me and we both smiled before the device made the sound we had heard earlier.

The Princess then turned the sheikah slate round to show us the screen, "See, a true to life picture!" Zelda exclaimed.

"Wow that is fascinating." I smirked at the interesting little device, I wondered what else it could do.

"Isn't it just." Zelda agreed, "And you both look absolutely amazing." Zelda complimented as we began to continue our journey.

"Maybe me but I'm not to sure about Y/n." Ooma joked but I just rolled my eyes at her and carried on walking.

-Time Skip-

The sun was now setting after a long and tiering day of walking. Link suggested we should make camp for the night which we all agreed so we divided the work between us. Link would put up the tents, Ooma would start the fire and me and Zelda would be going into the woods together, Zelda would be finding food to cook and I would be collecting more firewood.

"Come on Y/n." Zelda called as she began to walk off to the woods without me.

"Coming!" I shouted before jogging to catch up to the Princess.

It was dark now so we had to be careful as visibility in the woods would be very low. That also made both our jobs ten times harder but I guess we would just have to get on with it.
