it's been 3 years since the incident
i wish they just knew how i felt
why is it so hard to live in a shadow
of who you know isn't you
i guess because human expression is so complex
and partially needy in nature
it wants to feel unrestricted and decided by the host
i pray this time
i can live my life
without strife
and with those i have
being you couldn't be more essential, i realized.
is this why trans people exist, and is this why
we've been fighting
for years?
