In an abandoned amusement park

For the past two days, Gon, Yiga and I have been scouting around the city with zetsu, searching for this Royal Guard that went rogue, using the hints provided to us by Sheikah's Gossip Stone ability. Speaking of Sheikah, he has been navigating around the sewers to find an escape route for the surviving humans during this time.

In the meantime, we've found multiple chimera ant corpses lying around during our search, many of which appear to be little more than husks. The bodies become more common when we finally make our way into a broken down amusement park. While the park itself barely has anything to distinguish itself from the rest of the destroyed city, the thing that makes it stand out is the large piles of what appears to be translucent pink gum everywhere, which is nearly to see without using gyo. Some of the gum seems to be arranged in a fashion to resemble a spider web.

"Hold!" Yiga whispers sharply, raising his hand to halt us.

"What is is?" Gon asks him as quietly as possible.

I remain silent, on the lookout.

Yiga points to a lone figure, sitting on top of a pile of ant corpses. Upon closer inspection, the figure is clearly a chimera ant themselves, one with scorpion genetics.

As planned, Yiga releases zetsu, while Gon and I stay in it and keep watch. Yiga then makes his way toward the figure to confront him. Though he is no longer sneaking, his footsteps make no noise. It is remarkable how such a large man can walk so quietly.

Soon enough, the figure recognizes the red ninja's presence and turns around to face him. "Oh? My my, it looks like I have a fresh new catch~" the figure says.

Yiga remains calm, ignoring the ant's remark and asks a question "Are you the chimera ant who has been hunting his own kind?"

The ant decides to play coy, saying "Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. What does it matter?"

As per usual, Yiga is straight to the point, simply stating "I want to know your motivations, perhaps the two of us can help each other..."

The ant continues to play coy, but I don't pay much attention to what he says when I notice his face. His words seem to drown out when I look at it, something about it just seems so... familiar. But I can't quite put my finger on it...
